True damage is inherently oppressive. You are trying to reduce snowballing aren't you Riot?

Professional analysis of top lane leads to this every time above 2000 elo: Lanes over at 8 minutes, one player is completely fucked, only choice is to try to stop bleeding out in top lane by getting 10 cs every 2 minutes and try not to get killed while getting that 10cs

True damage gains damage with damage.

Tank items do not make you more tanky against true damage. So how is it efficient to go tanky at all against true damage? They made tank items more gold efficient YES. But then the champions who have true damage just buy tank items and fuck people up with true damage who don't have it. Top lane is now just a fight of who has more %hp or true damage and completely outscales and destroys anybody who doesn't.

If they took a lot of these cases out, you are back to where top lane was actually fun to play and not a 10 0 2v1 stomp or a 5 0 island with one player 50 cs behind EVERY GAME above 1800 elo.

When toplane is a good lane to play, this game is fun to watch, it creates so many options for teams to do stuff early on and into the mid game with teleport and top side roams for red/blue buff and control of rift herald. But right now its just a roll fest because whoever gets their first item faster and has true damage/%hp in their kit destroys the other for the next 15 minutes.

Also add 850 hp to bot and top outer turrets. A bad jungler gank bot for either team can often mean 2000 gold for one team early and a completely fucked top laner at no real fault of the top laner due to 2v1.

Not a lot of champions in the game have % true damage. Regular true damage can be mitigated by stacking HP.

Honestly I don't think true damage is inherently bad but there are so many champs with %HP true damage which is pretty fucked
