Ivern Ally Tips (for my bronzies and otherwise clueless ppl who know nothing about ivern)
Hello :)
I have just recently started playing ranked after having played about 895 games in norms and after achieving to get Lvl.7 on all the champs i love which includes:

I'm a bronzie, so anything any high elo players sees here as just bad, feel free to lend me a hand cause i do not know everything this is just me trying my best to explain my struggles with my bronze brain X) i would love to be able to sculpt this into the perfect ivern ally guide. >.> maybe i should put it on reddit...ew, this is more accessible. This particular post is about The Green Father, Ivern. I love Ivern. I love him thematically and gameplay wise. What i dont love. Is how hard it is for his TEAMMATES to get on board with him. Now i understand he was probably meant for higher elos regarding how hard he is to play as and with. I also understand that because of this not many people in lower elos even knows him or has even seen him before. i think that stinks. becuz i really really love playing ivern. But i really really REALLY love when my team knows how to play with him. So if you could help me out and indulge me for just a moment, i'm going to try my best and explain the most efficient way (in my experience) to play with the Green Father. Most of these tips will include playing mechanics that most high elo players probably would already know or would understand more than i would but i am not one of those ppl so lets get started.
BEFORE ENTERING THE GAME/ QUEUE: I find that ivern does well in team comps that like to go BALLS TO THE WALL IN YOUR FACE. This doesnt mean everyone in ur comp has to meet this criteria but feel free pick the most obnoxious champs you enjoy playing and are best with. its not that Ivern has absolutely no potential with anything other than this, but his potential greatly increases with champs who like getting in the enemies faces. so really it's just the luck of the draw (in solo que anyway). But keep in mind, Ivern is a support jungler. He is not suppose to do much damage at all but is very apt at getting his teamates kills as long as they cooperate.
BEGINNING OF GAME/LANING PHASE: at the start of the game I, the Ivern, like to regard the enemy jg's starting spot. depending on whether they start red or blue, I like to steal whatever buff they're NOT starting at. You can help me do this with the most reward as possible by following me into the jg (safely) to ward, or simply being relatively close by to help me make a get away if need be. If im not on ur side of the map plz ward whatever side Ivern will not be starting on. When ivern succesfully grabs the enemy team's buff he'll most likely be ready to gank a lane. I know this is basic knowledge but it really helps when and ivern reaches lvl.2 (especially in bronze >.<) ...don not....push the wave away from the ally tower. this goes for most junglers but if you want either a kill or a flash from the enemy you need to learn wave management. even if you have to miss a tiny bit of cs, it's all worth it for a kill right?
Once Ivern reaches lvl.5 your team will enjoy the pleasure of Double Buffs. Once ivern has taken a buff be it blue or red, this will leave a large ring encompassing the camp. All one must do is simply STEP inside the circle. you do not have to walk in the middle of the camp. the most efficient way to take the double buff is simply stepping just inside the circle and then leaving. (it honestly tilts me when i see ppl go all the way around inside the camp to get the buff lol). keep in mind that only ivern and another ally can acquire a buff. if an ally takes a buff only ivern can obtain the double buff and no one else
Regarding ganks Ivern can do one of two things: root the enemy with his q-rootcaller, or place a detonating shield on either you or himself with his e-triggerseed. Both of these come with other effects but i'll talk about Rootcaller first. Rootcaller root the enemy of course but if any of his allies who are out of range goes to auto attack the victim they will dash forward into their max atk range. keep this in mind if you right click an enemy affected by Ivern's q and you're on low health. if you do decided to go in on an enemy that's been rooted by rootcaller, Ivern should usually place triggerseed on you as soon and you dash into range. Triggerseed explodes after two seconds of being used so keep that in mind as well. but after exploding triggerseed applies a slow that can also be used to chase opponents. most of the time its more advantageous for ivern to use his e on his ally. this either becuz ivern has built tanky items and is using it on a squishy ally or isnt as tanky and should be standing behind his allies during fight anyway (obviously)
At lvl.6 ganking becomes so much fun and diving becomes pretty easy with good teamwork. there's nothing like being in lane and seeing Daisy running toward you with a triggerseed planted on her. if you listen to pings (which isnt common in low elo, so i emplore any low elo players that happen by this to plz...PAA-LEEZZ regard pings) you should see daisy walking up to ur enemy laner. by this point you should already be on ur way, following daisy (which is that big thing that kinda looks like blue buff... it's ivern's ultimate). if the enemy laner makes it under his tower obviously both you and ivern are more susceptible to being counter ganked or at least taking more damage. but with a good Ivern, he should be able to coordinate himself and daisy in a way that rotates the turret aggro so that he and daisy aren't solely taking hits from it. this is you're cue to take down the enemy. Ivern should have peeled enough for you to make it easy and he'll be there to shield you with triggerseed. after that i'd probably follow him and daisy to safety.
TEAMFIGHTS AND MID-TO-LATE GAME: No doubt ivern has more power in the early game and kind of falls off afterward dmg wise. utility wise he should be better after building cdr. at this point in the game laning phase is over and the team (hopefully, unless you can afford not to) has come together to help end the game. in teamfights Ivern's gonna call daisy to focus down the person with the highest dps usually while he's shielding his ur team and rooting other enemies that get caught out. but he should be with his team.
i can't think of anything else other than that. Laning phase is by far the most complicated to coordinate my teammates in. this was a lot and i've never done this before but i wanna play more ivern. so here's hoping that this gets seen and i am able to play with the green guy more
