This is the dragon champion we've been waiting for?

Sure you can roam easily and look cool flying around the map and all but really riot come on. This is what playing aurelion so is actually like: oh look a perfect wave of 6 creeps it sure would be nice if I could last hit each and every one if those, oh damn my stars damage throw off my timing and I only get half the creeps, oh look the enemy laner wants some creeps to let me just stun him for 1 second and let my slow ass stars maybe proc thunder lords if I'm lucky and he gets all 6 creeps and walks away with a small part of his health gone, oh look the enemy bot Lane is overextended now would be a good time for a roam, flies down bot let's stun charge up enemy Lucian simply dodges stun with his e and walks away completely unharmed and I can't do shit about it. mid game team starts skirmishing at dragon guess I better fly over there and enlarge my stun on the way, misses gigantic stun and gets put into enemy team with nothing to do besides try to put my self in a different bad position trying to line up my stars which never hit and anyone with a gap closer just ass pounds you instantly. Late game fly into team fight hits stun then has nothing else to do and gets one shit by anyone with a gap closer and ultimately loses the game. Like ffs this champ isn't even really fun because over 90% of your time is spent getting ass pounded by people with gap closers and the other 10% is spent flying around the map like a fucking retard accomplishing nothing useful this champ is ass in every aspect of the game and there was so much hype around him. And his item build is just generic mage bullshit that doesn't even seem to work very well on him anyway. Like come on this is a fucking dragon you couldn't have done better than a fairly low damage cocky dragon who can move fast unless you try to turn. The turning thing is probably the most frustrating thing about him in general theres nothing like chasing someone who all the sudden runs into the jungle forcing you to turn and slowing you down. You wouldn't even have to change his kit all that much his ult is probably the only good thing about him a new w and a new passive are his most needed changes and a few changes to the q would help a lot. I'm just confused how this current kit even made it into the game to begin with the champ just feels like he was rushed and just doesn't work especially against anyone with any sort or gap closer.

If you don't like the champion, I have a very simple solution: don't play him.

You're describing a bad case of "Unskilled Aurelion Sol Player" to me.

Paragraphs are your friend. Squash the wall of text, man.

have you watched any videos of his gameplay? how to farm efficiently? how to make use of his passive and W?

Map awareness and prediction are key to this champ and don't forget, he is a zoning mage, not a fighter or a tank, so his place is naturally one to be protected

a tank build is optional for him as all of his damage is his passive, but do not expect players to bend over for his stars to hit them, even if they are much harder to avoid while fleeing

While I do see Aurelion's strengths, almost every single Aurelion I have played with or against has been countered in champion select and proceeded to feed an assassin he was matched against. Given his strengths he should suffer a weakness to engage, but the current iteration of his weakness is like Titanic v. Iceberg weakness. Any and all assassins completely and utterly shut him down to where he has no effect on the outcome of the game.

The best suggestion I've heard is to make his kit more accessible to newer players by shoring up some of that weakness and altering kit power so he does not proceed to stomp everyone unless significantly ahead. I've played quite a few games with the champion and I have to say that he has probably the greatest weakness of any champion to date, but his kit does not offer an equivocal reward for the risk. As such, I have refrained from playing him in ranked because even in gold division, players are usually adept enough to fully punish this weakness. Ultimately this makes him have one of the smallest niches to occupy, as he should really only be picked if the enemy team picks/bans his hardest counters prior to your pick (and he has a lot of counters).

Lastly, his release into an assassin-heavy meta did a disservice to his true potential.

Thing is, Sol is a lot like Illaoi/Teemo/Bard/Azir/any other complex champ: A bad one is just kind of there, and can kill people, but doesn't do a whole lot. A good one, however, is a fucking menace and can destroy people / teams. xD

Up to you to decide which one you are. ^^

Sol is perfectly viable against the current meta, and can even beat his counters given enough experience and general game knowledge -- just gotta know how to pull it off. I'd be happy to give you tips if you give me matchups you have trouble with.
