I feel like jax needs more to do than just rightclicking you to death

Jax is a champion whos kit revolves around right-clicking you to death with no mechanics that you can not really play against besides his counterstrike which you cant play around unless you have a certain champion. He is the definition of a stat check champion and is the equivalent to Udyr with a gap closer.

yes, there are other champions in the game like this but most of those champions can't really stick to you as Jax can. Jax, you can't run from because of the uptime of his q. He also can be decently tank due to his ult and counterstrike

The two skills that have the potential to add more mechanics outside of right-clicking are his w and his ult. Essentially, these skills just boost his ability to right-click people to death.

Jax has one of the most boring ults in the game. An idea that I think could make it more interesting would be to make it operate like Heimerdinger or karmas ult and it buffs the next ability you use by making Jax use a different weapon for that ability and swapping to that weapon for a short period of time buffing his abilities in certain ways. He is supposed to be the grandmaster at arms yet he only jokingly uses a lamp post. for example, his leap stroke could allow him to use a polearm to leap at his opponent giving him extra attack range, Counterstrike could give him a more defensive weapon. This would help make it so his ult does something interesting besides giving you extra damage every 3 hits and armor and magic resist. it also gives him choices on how he wants to proceed outside of jumping on you and beating you to death, with a kit that gives a lot of stats with no real mechanics. It also matches up with his lore

I'm not sure what could be done with w. It's basic to the point where any change to it would fundamentally substitute the ability entirely. Perhaps something to do with fire.

Overall, I believe Jax is a champion who needs to be less of a stat check champion and his w and ult need to be changed to be more interesting than just buffing his stats. My ideas are not the best I admit but I do believe that having his abilities reflect his grandmaster at arms title would make him a more interesting champion

Champs with a shit early game are allowed to be basically stat-check. That's called scaling.

A stat-check champion with a good early game is not healthy for the game, though. (assassins)

There's a little bit more nuance to Jax than what is apparent. Even then, there's not much difference between him and every other auto attack-based hyper carry like yi, tryndamere and most adcs.

He does he has to Do real close kiting and has to save his q for specific gap closes because hes slow . it takes very little to step away from jax when hes autoing to make his e miss.
