Tryndamere

Hi kinda just want to see everyone opinion of Tryndameres current state

In my opinion there is very little you can do to Tryndamere unless you have allot of cc or are really tanky other champs you can argue that you could just cc and burst down but with trndamere you cant really do that and even if you have hard cc it is generally not long enough to prevent trydamere from killing you as he has a slow a gap closer and a heal that combined with his sheer damage makes him nearly impossible to deal with. I feel that as soon as he manages to sneak into competitive play he's gonna be nerfed really fast as by riots logic I believe he has lttle meaningful counter play

Well, it's really easy for him to lose lane if the enemy laner stacks armor, so he might be a liability in competitive play. Also, the need to land crits to win trades is fine for solo-queue, but in competitive play it's a HUGE liablility for teams that need assurances that they will come out on top and have a plan to make it so.

I agree that there's little to no counter play if you meet his win conditions. In a teamfight, if you get a flank on the enemy adc and force the enemy team to blow all of their cc to lock you up during your ult then it won't be hard for the enemy team to win the fight. In some team comps, however, all it will take to peel away tryndamere is simple slows. Think of how hard of a time Tryndamere would have killing Kalista when Karma is there to perma-slow. Also, in competitive play it's harder to get flanks off since there's usually a lot more ward coverage around the map.

Long version and TL;DR, didn't realize I wrote this much. Cheers if you read the long one but just reading the summary would be sufficient for your needs.

Is he overpowered? Absolutely not. Is his concept abysmal? Completely. He's an incredibly binary and luck-reliant champion that honestly has no place in a competitive game, but he's here. In terms of viability, he is usable. He's pretty good, but he counters and is countered INCREDIBLY hard, making him even more binary. As a result, he's not skill dependent, and his skill floor and ceiling are both pretty low. To be honest, because of these things, I think he desperately needs a rework. That all being said.

(If anyone calls him overpowered, I genuinely question their judgement on champion balance. His design is terrible, but he's certainly not too powerful.)

TL;DR: He's very easy to use, he's easy to do well with and is viable, but is binary, has very polarized match-ups and is luck dependent.

no, considering

A. ignite

B. thornmail.

C. sunfire

D. any DOT champ

those alone make his ult completely useless, and because tryn is ult and auto reliant he is useless when focuses on by more that 2 champs with any of those. in my opinion, he needs a buff considering 1/3 people always bring ignite in every game. and majority of top laners build sunfires at some point in the game ans most mid laners have a DOT in game. tryn can be a carry. but considering how common his counters are he is by no means OP, nore am I saying he is weak.

just think of how many champs have a DOT effect. or bring ignite every game? In fact just play tryn for a few games and you will see what I mean.

He's only strong if the opposing team is without coordination and cc. I main Tryndamere and this is just something he cannot deal with. Even without cc a well oiled team will cool his ass down. He's strong in the way most assassins are strong, but he does have his invincible ult, which gives him his duelist edge, kind of. A decent Fiora can manhandle him, a well played Malphite can stomp him down, too. Riven, Syndra, Veigar, Vayne, Caitlyn, Ashe, and many others just excel at keeping their distance while opening two full servings of shame on Tryndamere. Strong? Yes. OP? No. Nasus is, by far, waaay more over powered than Tryn. Katarina, too.

tryndy is an hard champion to play in all reality. to break him down and murder him is easy for me as a tryndy main all one would need to build is: ninja tabi like no lie a tabi early will kill off his auto attacks and all that shit when he does his slow and shit just face the mofo and run off when he ults way like a couple seconds and ignite his e is kinda op with the 120% ad boost but hes all ad hes not like others who can variate between ad and ap and have other actual skills that help his escapes

My only complaint is the ultimate. It should depend on the rage. Just like Aatrox's passive (which would make even more sense since they share a lore). If his rage is short, his ultimate should be much shorter in duration than it is now by default.

I was going to write a balance post yesterday about how OP Trynd is. Glad to see this here. If you beat him in lane, you still lose your lane, and if you lose to him in lane, there is almost no way to win, unless your team coordinates really well and has tons of CC/Gap closers.

Trynd has a very long gap-closer that goes over walls and does damage, an ult that makes him unkillable... forever, huge damage, and a self-heal that refreshes way too fast due to the huge amount of dmg he does. My initial thoughts on how to fix him, would be to reduce the ult by 1 second and take any damage away from his gap closer. Seems reasonable, but still wouldn't really fix him. Then I realized...

The best easy fix to balance Trynd w/o gimping him would be to make his Ult not work vs tower damage. Take away the tower dives, and that pretty much fixes the issue. He is still super powerful, but not imbalanced to where you just can't do anything to him.

TL;DR - Make Trynd's Ult not work Vs Towers... Tada! Fixed.

The problem I have with tryndamere is his Ult and similar to Vayne no matter what you do he always is annoying.

His Ult duration should be lowered to somewhere like 3 seconds. I mean compare it to Kayle and her ult is much much shorter. I think lower his Ult CD and remove his split pushing power somewhere, not sure how you can though.

The thing is. You can CC him and burst him yet he sit has his stupid ult duration where you can't ignore him.

Vicarious1173/4/2015, 6:30:01 AM1 votes

I'm not gonna say he's OP cause he isn't. He's an auto attack reliant squishy bruiser with the ability to not die for an annoying amount of time. So basically burst his face off or cc him into oblivion, I've beaten enough Tryndys who've won lane just by not being bad and playing to his strengths.

That being said, Trynd is one of the easiest champs to play in the game, he really doesn't take much skill at all to be effective with, and when you lose lane (cause most Trynd mains are generally bad at the game overall and rely on his ez mode gameplay to make up for their own lack of skill so will lose lane more often then not) you can just afk splitpush and almost never be caught cause his kit is simply stupid.

So a lot of bad players rank up past where they should be using this stupid champ, kind of like Yi mains as well, but he is easy enough to counter if you aren't bad so I wouldn't call him OP at all.

Shroom Junkie5/13/2015, 12:55:40 AM1 votes

Totally depends on the game. Got a matchup that CC's and/or bursts you down to a pulp? Woops, got countered, can't even use your ult unless you time it perfectly after getting used to it. But, if you got a matchup that's just damage, bruiser, or tank, then you can destroy them easy.

The stupider your build is with him, the better you do.

Seriously.

Case in point: barefoot tank jungle Tryndamere! PD/Shiv is your dps, other than that you have: Stalker's Blade Enchant: Juggernaut 2 armor items 1 MR item and you finish with IE. Bravo, you're a monster! You can shake off any and all harass, and escape from any gank despite that you don't even have boots. You also have 1k+ crits lategame, just for having IE.

0 people would ever recommend that you do this; on top of that, anyone would tell you that this kind of build is not worth trying. That's Tryndamere in a nutshell this season.

absolute terrible design

KING ATTILA3/4/2015, 7:49:21 PM1 votes

A lot of players only look at Tryndamere's strength because he is unique, and therefore can feel like he is overpowering--thats only half true. Anyone that understands his weaknesses will exploit them and Tryndamere's effectiveness will be cut in half...people have to be really good with him and understand mechanics well enough to make him viable...
