So, I remember back before Tristana's update... and I'm not gonna sit here and try to convince anybody that that was fair... I mean... I played supp Tris all the time, went AP... and BEFORE the ult, with one button I was able to make bottom lane an uncomfortable experience for one of the bot lane champions... and then my ADC was still raring to kill on top of that. AFTER the ult (lvl 6) if an enemy champion was close to half health, chances were all I had to do was jump in, burn and ult the target away... AND THAT! Net me a kill like nothing. So ok, that version of AP Tristana was pretty broken (and till this day I still remember the assholes who thought we'd lose the game because I was AP Tristana, or that I'd feed)

BUT NOW! They nerfed the CHRIST out of AP Tristana... like.. really riot? The thing about AP Tristana was that she was then played as a caster, so basic attacks weren't much of a focus of hers. So the burn is replaced with explosive charge and at first you think "Mmmm trade DoT for AoE? Ok.. fine" BUT THE AP RATIO WAS FUCKING CUT IN HALF! SO if you want to experience some damage resembling what it use to be you'd have to BA the target 4x.... FOUR TIMES! For AD Tristana, that's whatever, she basics for a living (literally) but AP Tristana doesn't have the possibility of draining HP with her basics, attacking fast enough with her basics (her Q can only do so much, and that's at end game since AP Tristana should be leveling spells she can actually buff with her AP) or hell, simply KILLING with her basics... I mean, you place the charge just to secure a kill at one point... I mean if you're running 2.5AS with 250+ AD and 60%+ crit chance by the time you land 4 BA's the target is probably almost dead (provided it isn't tanky) if not already dead.

So the explosive charge isn't even HALF as useful as the DoT spell it replaced.. because the charge is meant to do little or great damage to multiple targets where as the burn did decent damage to whoever Tristana actually wanted to kill, guaranteed. Then the AP ratio on the jump was also cut in half so that's lame.

And last but oh so not least... The ult was reduced from 120% to 100% AP... What does this mean? and why is it "oh so not least"? THAT'S YOUR BREAD AND BUTTER!... As AP Tristana... Tristana was a caster with her limitations set to her CDs... because if your bread and butter was minutes apart then fine... mid game your enemy could make it back and possibly kill you before you could do it again... late game the respawn timer was essentially the same as the CD.. so play your cards right and you could turn the 5v5 into a 5v4 easily

So yes, old Tristana's AP side was looking for a nerf, but new Tristana's AP side DOESN'T FUCKING EXIST.

Like... To be honest, I'd be content with placing the jump's AP ratio up to 80%, or ATLEAST 70%.

The explosive charge? 2 things come to mind... bump that up to 80 or 70 like the jump... OR! For the sake of AP Tristana... Increment the buff from her Q based on her AP... I'd say at level 1 it'd be.. 40% for every 100 AP? Not sure how much is needed to actually make a noteworthy difference but the point would be that her Q would serve AP Tristana (and not AD Tristana) for the sake of priming those charges faster...

And her ult, back up to 120% -.-... though, with her other spells supporting an AP based kit it wouldn't hurt to keep it at 100%

With the explosive charge, my secondary idea sounds pretty easy to abuse if you run a nashor's tooth, lich bane Tristana because proc'ing your Q would mean you could hit higher than 2AS before anybody else could and you'd be doing soul crushing amounts of magic damage with your BAs.... but in the end, it's not like that idea has to be passed... but it's just something that can be done to actually give Tristana back her AP power...

I can't help but feel nauseated and a strong urge to spit when I hear this "Champion diversity" bullcrap because they literally went about making it so that if you ever believed in AP Tristana before and could prove she wasn't bad... NOW all the assholes who would flame you for it.. WOULD BE RIGHT... way to support the toxic community riot.

First, old AP Tristana was built entirely on "I press 3 point and click buttons on you then walk away as you die". Her having to ACTUALLY STICK AROUND for damage is good, as it removes that toxic play pattern of massive point and click damage instantly. So you know what? Build Lichbane and/or a Nashor's and start actually autoattacking instead of enjoying the instant deletion of someone while having a resetting escape/nuke.

I wish I played tristana before the rework.. she sounded so OP then ;-; but i was a poor bronzie who didnt know how to use half her kit. RIP old tristana, I understand why you were OP now

Actually, now that they buffed the damage increase on her E to 30% (remembering that this increases both the ratio and the base) per auto, you only need to attack twice to get a good ratio on it. Easily doable even without any AS items. The only real problem is that her E does physical damage now, but that's pretty minor if you're just using her E for poke and tower damage. It's not super OP anymore, but it's definitely playable again.
