Galio gets a QoL update

“We’ve always felt that Galio’s failure case for his ultimate is positioning, not execution. Limiting the cases you could accidentally ruin your biggest moment should keep you focused on the things that matter; like landing your ult on 5 people (and probably winning)."

"NO TAKE-BACKS : Idol of Durand can’t be cancelled by movement commands for the first 0.25 seconds of its duration if it strikes at least one champion."

Too bad it doesn't the fix his core issue, being that if any of these guys are on the enemy team: Blitzcrank Braum Garen Hecarim Irelia Leona Nautilus RekSai Skarner TwistedFate Udyr Volibear XinZhao, then your ult is just going to be canceled by an auto attack anyway, making the QoL update pretty much useless. I probably forgot one or two champions also that can accidently cancel his ult without even meaning to half the time. I didn't include Kennen because the moment would have to be perfect for him to cancel Galio's ult with an AA. I may be giving TF too much credit as well.

I'm fine with counterplay, but that's not counterplay, that's just oppressive. It'd be different if those champs were uncommon, but they are in all almost every game, and canceling his ult can't even be considered counterplay when they do it by accident 90% of the time. At least give him like 1 second of immunity from AA crow control effects (only talking about auto attack CC effects, not CC effects as a whole) so he can ramp up his ult a little bit. It's a big cost on a long CD and just shouldn't be that easy to counter.

I like that idea. I think about playing galio often but his kit it slightly lacking. I would like to suggest. They add a short range hop to his ultimate. Every champ is getting dashes now anyways it would be dodgable. Maybe like a .35 sec cast time 200 unit hop. He has wings for Christ sake. And maybe give a 50 range buff if in gust of wind. What do you think? Cool or op?

How the hell is Irelia supposed to cancel Idol of Durand with an AA? Her stun is an ability, not an on-hit, and I think they made Idol of Durand unaffected by her passive Tenacity a while back. Also Nautilus doesn't stun with his AAs, only roots. And Skarner has to land his E on Galio first, and if you ult Skarner AFTER he E'd you, you deserve to lose.

Galio has a bigger problem than his ult being cancelled- namely that he simply sucks.

Broken OP or broken weak?

Because only a true Galio mains knows when is the right timing to ult an enemy team whilst considering if an enemy has a disabling AA ready.

Braum is mostly excluded, unless if he already triggered the passive stun on you, then you can ult. Nautilus His AA is a root, not a stun, so it'll won't interrupt his ult. TwistedFate What kind of idiot uses a Galio ult when his yellow card is visible to the naked eye? Udyr Let him hit you once, then ult.

I'm torn on your idea. While it would be awesome since I play Galio, but it might push him into OP territory and get him nerfed. The only champs that can reliably interupt it are Braum (who hard counters him), Udyr (IF he is in bear stance), and Xin (if his Q is active when you ult). Everyone else can't stop it if they get caught by it.
