@Riot The correct way to balance champions

First let me say that as of currently the biggest issue when it comes to champion buffs/nerfs is how Riot only caters to the Spikes. What that essentially means is that they only change a champion's numbers when players who have next to no knowledge of the champion ask for nerfs when they can't beat them and get destroyed in lane because the person who got beat by that champion didn't know how to play the lane.

So what can Riot Games do to keep the balance between champions as "healthy"?

  1. Completely stop listen to the Spikes when it comes around to champion balancing, the people who play a champion because they are current FOTM (spikes) only play that certain champion because they seem like an free elo boost.

  2. Take input from people who main said champions up for nerf's opinion's over those of the Spikes, since the mains are more well rehearsed in the champions abilities and damage output at any point in a game

  3. Just like Riot Stashu, take the advice of Champion mains as to where numerical values should be altered and where the compensation for the reduced power goes.

  4. If a the PBE consensus confirm's that a change would be detrimental to the game as a whole Do Not Go Through With It you will regret it when the entire Live Server's blow-up the Boards with how much BS it is along with more insults from the player base of how incompetent the Riot Staff is (honestly I think you guys are doing a good job just need some improvements on your choice's)

  5. In the event of Reworks, post what you guys have already worked out in terms of new abilities and then ask the community as to how the abilities can deal a decent amount of damage without being too oppressive on the Reworked champions lane opponents.

These are my suggestions as to how Riot can balance champions more effectively without making them too oppressive or out right gutting them. I would enjoy it if someone from the Balance Team could comment on my post, Heck why not have RiotKateyKhaos drag someone here from the balance team? If need be I could run an experiment in the forums and post several different champions with the title "What would you do to "X" to bring balance to their kit?" and then compile all of the data into a simple PowerPoint for you guys to look at.

If you think Riot listens to bandwagoners, you're high. Riot listens to some of the people on PBE (Though given why some people are on there, they do so with a grain of salt.)

Riot has numbers, more than you or I. Pick/ban rate, win rate, damage dealt, healing dealt, crit damage, cs, towers, dragons, barons, K/D/A, who has the most hp, ap, ad, ect. I'm pretty certain, that on top of watching how most high level players play certain champs is how Riot decides who gets nerfs and buffs.

Riot just needs to be more respectful towards champion mains (and their time and money) instead of caring only about counterplay. The Sion rework sucked because his winrate and pickrate plummeted - a failed rework, even though it was an improvement in design terms. Players don't care about game design, but they do know their point and click stun just got turned into an incredibly easy to dodge one.
