LP Gainage/Loss

One of the most discouraging things in League of Legends is the amount of League Points players earn after a ranked game. When someone queues up for a ranked 5vs5 game, their incentive is often the hope they'll earn LP, climb the ranks, etc. When you give it your all that game, someone feeds, someone throws, whatever; if you come out with a loss, you're likely to be devastated. Other than IP, which is virtually useless once all the champions are unlocked, you're not being rewarded for a loss, which makes sense, to an extent. Not only are you not rewarded for finishing a game, but you're actually punished significantly harder for losing a game than you'd be rewarded for winning one. For example, I just won two games in a row, 18 LP each, a total of +36 LP, but then I lose my next game and lose more than half my winnings: not very balanced, and quite frankly tedious for players that stride to get better at League of Legends.

All in all, what I'm trying to say is that the LP Gainage and Loss is not equal, and discourages players from losing, which creates a very toxic environment for players, particularly those whom take the game more seriously than your average Summoner.

I call for change, hopefully in preseason.

Thats the point, you are supposed to win significally more games than you lose if you are meant to climb the leader. If not you will see a bunch of people on gold complaining that is hard to go to diamond, etc, etc.

Back in season 2 and 3 when we had the ELO System around 70% of players were on Bronze, Only around 5% of people actually made it into gold. Back then Seeing a golden border meant way more than now, the system changed so it was easier to achieve silver (which normally give you a ward skin and a meh border) but I still see people complaining.

I agree with the significance of winning the vast majority of your games to climb, but it is just discouraging when you feel like you're going no where but backwards in your division.

There's also more tiers today too, which theoretically would make the divisions lower on the ladder easier to reach and the ones higher up more difficult, not all of them touchable.

Have you checked the stats? Globally only around 20% of the people is on bronze, while 40% is on silver and around another 20% is on gold you have around 10% in platinum and the rest between diamond, master and challenger. On NA roughly a half of players is on silver (723k out of 1.7M), there are more silver players than bronze (5140k) and you have an equally big amount of gold players (338k).

So to circle back to your point, it is easier to climb up to the gold level, we have nearly 4 times more gold players than in the earlier seasons, if they were to make the system any easier then ranked will lose a tad of significance since pretty much anyone would be able to reach gold. If you constantly win 3 out of 4 games you should climb quite fast, if you win 2 out of 4 then you will stay still and will depend on either wining or losing streaks to climb.
