I think the question we should be asking is, does the original joke teller own the joke? If he/she posted it on reddit. No. It's a place for the exchange of ideas. If op had found it on reddit they could have been like "ohh haha found this really funny ekko thing on reddit". It doesn't really matter where op got it. It's a relatively simple joke. :) *Doesn't make the joke any less funny!
