you can literally dash out of his q to avoid most of the damage and slow

you can literally walk out of w

if you want to talk about cc, there are plenty of other champions

swain has to predict where you are GOING TO BE, since the root has a delay, the slow is short range cast but it has a long range after being casted, so hes only going to move in to use it IF he lands the root he will E , Q , R in your face so move unpredictably, costs a lot of mana to throw a snare and miss it
