How to climb in ranked, if these obstacles are in the way.

** You are about to read things said by a bronze players. If you are here to say "you're trash uninstall" then please just leave. I am being serious here.**

Hello. I am currently in bronze 5 demoted from bronze 3. I would love to get that dream rank I want, but I can't with these things getting in the way.

  1. Team never listening
  2. Inters
  3. Afkers/Trolls

I'm not saying I have fed in a game before, but I believe that I am doing my part as a mid-laner. Let me give you an example. My last game, I was playing mid lane Zed. I won lane, 3-0 and so did my other lanes. My laners we're doing fantastic. My jg however, was doing fine, but he didn't seem to know what he was doing. So around late game, since we had the upperhand, I said to my team lets start pushing because 4 of their team was currently dead, and the respawn timer was around 30 seconds. But instead they didn't listen and decide to drag for drag. 4 of their team was currently dead, and the respawn timer was around 30 seconds. If it was inferno drag, I would definitely take it. That extra ad/ap helps. But it was cloud, which isn't that valuable. So after drag, I convinced my team to push mid, as there was a good amount of minions to take a minimum of 2 towers by respawn time. Instead, they go bot and top to clear wave. There wasn't even a good amount of minions there. Maybe like 2 waves but could easily be taken by tower and by our minions spawning. We did this twice. This is when I knew we had a good chance of losing. Which we did lose which was really sad.

That was one example of #1. I have more examples to give, but I don't want others to read all of it and get bored.

How will I improve if my games are always like this?

It's called being a leader. It's a trait you should pick up if you want to succeed in life.

In my experience, it's best to play normal games. JUST PLAY NORMAL GAMES. JUST PLAY NORMAL GAMES It my sound stupid but hear me out. A lot of players get to lvl 30 believing they are ready for ranked. They fail miserable and the ranked LoL system places them in bronze 1-5 where they gotta climb out with other horrible players who have tendency to not listen, horrible mechanic..etc. All in all, even if you are a silver player, you will find it hard to get out.

By playing normal games, you hone your skills with people who are generally, at first, YOUR level. The more normal games you play, the systems starts matching you with players that don't normally play normal, just ranked. Eventually you will be playing games with Plats, Diamonds, Golds, and in rare cases challenger players. When you play against these players, it will hone your play style to be better; even if they aren't playing with their ranked mentality, they are still better and you will still have to play extra hard.

After that, trying playing in your promos again. You should be able to destroy bronze players in lane and snowball your team with correct champions. Although, never forget, once you play ranked, the system will always be biased on what it thinks you should be. If you were bronze 5 last season, it will likely place you again in bronze. It's why I feel that players shouldn't just to ranked as soon as they get to level 30. In a way, it just ruins their account.

I didn't play ranked till I had like 1,000 games. I was unranked and my normal games were with Diamonds, Plats, and I've had multiple Challenger players in one game. There were times I'd go 0/10/0 in lane despite playing my best. Eventually I got pretty good and decide to try ranked. I think I went from Silver 3 (where I was played) to Gold 1 within 10 games. At that point I just stopped since I would already get my reward. Even this season, I played, if you look at some of game limited ranked games, you'd get the point.

TL;dr, just play normal games non-stop. Stop playing ranked. After 300+ games, re-try rank with the new season. It's the best way. Playing in bronze doesn't hone your skills. You just pick up bad habits

Solo or duo? I hate the answer carry harder. But surely you have been in a game where you just say, WTF This Jax just kills me everytime. He is carrying. I hate the carry mentality (I am a support) but it helps. Pick a champ that can carry for a bit.

Flex queue I know. But I climbed B4->B5->B2 solo with Nasus top and some jg Udyr. But mostly Nasus top until it started matching me vs like soloq gold ranks and I couldn't lane. He has the hard carry late game. But not just Nasus pick any champion and play him like a boss (Zed works).

At B2 when I started losing to a bunch of gold/plats. I finally queued up as support and more with friends. And it works out. The level of play is much better at B1 than at the lower levels. So just try to carry yourself a little.

Note Nasus works because he splitpushes so hard once actually up. As long as your team isn't throwing fights down mid you can 1v1 most people and still get turrets for the pressure. Splitpushing is reallly hard for bronze (me too) to deal with.

I think you're depending on your team do much. Do things yourself and take control, then others will follow.
