You try to nerf everything but Azir's damage. just nerf his damage. ffs.

Azir is one of my favorite champions, but this champion has way too much going for him. mobility? check. playmaking? check. sustained dps? check. burst? check.

I mean why would you pick any other mage besides azir? cassio and viktor might be the only two who can compete with him right now outside of the the drain tank mages like swain/vlad. thats not good. its been like this for ages. he does way too much dmg in lane with his poke for a champion who scales hard.

think about all the great high dps scaling champions in the game outside of those I mentioned. Vayne takes forever to get going. Yi, same thing. Kog maw also takes some time after his nerfs. hell all adcs take a long time to get going with the exception of maybe lucian and miss fortune who still dont completely melt you without being fed.

azir has an oppressive lane phase, and scales super well. there is no downside to this champion. please just nerf his damage. lwoer the ap ratio or nerf his base damage significantly. he needs to do little damage with his poke early for how easy it is to get off.

Hum, are you aware that there is a nerf on the PBE right now? 25 damage per hit at level 11, that seems like quite a damage nerf to me... And it's still 15 damage per hit at level 15.

For all his oppressiveness/damage/utility, he's still terrible in terms of actual results on average. Hmm. Gee, I wonder what that means.

The downside to Azir is that he's extremely fragile and has to manage proxies to do maximum damage. I think they keep trying to make that a little more difficult, but it doesn't seem to be working. I feel like scaling his damage back couldn't hurt.

Makes sense and he should have his damage early nerfed. But then again my laning vs him is "ok" and i have as of now in ranked have an 89% win rate vs azirs (8Wins-1Lose) as katarina in mid to high plat. I do agree he needs a nerf, but so far i haven't seen a highly skilled one carry the game against me. (the win rate does not mean "lane" it means the game period.)

People who play melees find his wall incredibly frustrating, laners find his safe laning frustrating, other battle mages/control mages fall by the wayside because they lack his mobility. None of those things go away if you hit his damage, and he's a marksman mage - he should have high damage.

I agree harder-scaling champs should be weaker early, but I think this is something Riot gets wrong on many more champs than just Azir.

i never understand why azir feels like a lane bully in some matchups yet he's one of if not the best scaling mage.

he needs lane damage nerfs in some way, or a range reduction.

Wish they would have would have thought about nerfing his damage before making his ult practically worthless at lvl 1 -__-

I used it in a teamfight and I immediately felt like that was the most pointless thing I could have done in that fight. The other team easily walked around it... anyone who was to slow to walk around it just sat there and used any ranged abilities they had till 3 seconds was up. for something that is supposed to split up an enemy team, it really doesn't do much of that now.

Coming up with various suggestions to try balance him (some may be good or bad):

  1. Remove the stacking slow on his Q as it's early game power he shouldn't have and Rylai's will pick up the slack later.
  2. Like Zyra's plants Azir's soldiers could deal less damage to a single target if multiple soldiers are attacking you.
  3. Remove the damage from his ultimate and increase the width of the wall. He doesn't need the damage from his ult to be successful so this could remove some of his burst.

Just some ideas, what do you think? Maybe we can use all these nerfs haha.

a lot of it might just avoided by making it where azir's Q doesn't count when procing thunderlords so that it makes his poke potential less.

Seriously though, I agree somewhat that Azir is really strong right now. All he has to do is get Nashor's tooth and rylais then he's all set for carnage.

I guess knocking down the base damage and upping the ap ratios on his soldiers would make him less oppressive early, so that way he would need to invest in a lot of ap items to do significant damage, which means that his soldiers wont do too much in laning other than CS and occasional harrasment.

They should gut his early game,no discussion.Champ cant be a fucking lane bully and a late game hyper carry.Thats not how it works.He has no weaknesses...How is this balanced?

Why they should nerf him so hard, to basically made him super high risk - low/med reward champion? He is a hard champion to play and person can screw it up very easy. It takes a lot of play time to make Azir useful. And most of all, those are the items which makes him op not his kit.
