Essence Reaver Draven

A thought just occurred to me:

Draven is a champion that scales incredibly well with AD.
His W has relatively low mana costs, but can be very costly if he's constantly using it.
Essence Reaver restores mana based on a percentage of damage dealt.
Draven does insane damage per hit because of his axes.

My uncalculated guess is that, especially mid-late game, if Draven uses his W with every ~two axes he catches, he will never run out of mana with say, IE + ER. The AS/MS boost more or less cancels out the need for PD (or at least allows him to delay it). Basically, so long as he's attacking something, he permanently has bonus AS and MS. Thoughts?

Draven needs a sizable amount of critical hit chance for his damage to be anything relevant. I'd imagine swapping BT for it in most builds but i'm not sure how Draven will function without that lifesteal.

ER grants a bit of life steal as well, though it's nothing compared to BT. I'm no Draven expert, just an idea that came to mind. So It looks like, since he's pretty dependent on crits, that he'd go for IE -> PD -> ER? Instead of skipping PD in favor of ER?

As a Draven AD carry main i can tell you that may be tricky. Draven needs early lifesteal or he'll lose trades. I guess it depends on your matchup and your farm, but it's still an odd thing to try.

Really? Doesn't Draven win like, every trade? He outdamages pretty much everyone, the axes + the AS are incredibly strong, not to mention he can disrupt champions with his E.

Not really. A skilled Vayne player can easily win an all-in at level 6.

It's a potent and cheap BT alternative, and one of the few sources of CDR readily available to a champ like Draven. I wouldn't replace your IE or PD though. ER is a BT replacement through and through. You won't miss out on that lifesteal or overheal too much if you make good use of your CDR and mana restoration, as it'll make Draven completely immovable from lane and grant trading potential out the ass.
