Sona is just a bad champion

idk how it is for all of you else, but i main adc secondarily and every sona i have seems to feed and accomplish absolutely nothing. They just go super aggressive in lane when enemies have a huge wave or simply just get bursted down. she has a shitty heal and ms buff, ok poke and all the cc she has is her ult, and that has a gigantic cd. she is just so squishy and dies in lane so much, and its even worse late game when she is just a reset target to champs like kha zix or yi. Seriously rito, rework her. or just give me some tips on how to play with a sona or how to peel for her when she is caught. fuck -->

So many people do play over aggressive with her, I'll give you that. They see her passive and think, "Oh man, with Lich Bane I'll just own!" Which is true but only if you're smart about it.

Either way though man, hate the summoner, not the champion. Sona is actually a really great support if you find the summoner who can bring out the best in her.

That's like saying, "Yorick is actually a really great champ if you find the summoner that can bring out the best in him." That doesn't change the fact they're both shit-tier champions and it's not a valid excuse either.

Sona is not even remotely what you apparently have experienced.

Sona is a lane dominant champion with only one way to play against her to not lose the lane, all-in and kill her.

This is why Sona's often times die and fall behind, because the opponent lane has no options against a Sona lane, Sona herself doesn't have the greatest options for pushing her lead, but is quite strong at maintaining a lead since she is nearly invulnerable to poke and when ahead her ultimate makes most all-in's suicidal.

However, when a Sona is behind, she is quite literally cannon fodder with her poor defensive stats, and lack of strong mobility (she rotates well, but fairly immobile in a team fight), and reliance on being fairly close to enemies for half her kit to function.

Sona's kit is VERY bland and poorly made. The most decision comes from which power chord you AA with and when you use your ultimate.

Sona was fairly dead waiting for a rework but the new masteries (Windspeaker especially) bumped her W's efficiency by quite a bit meaning she pops up more now.

Realistically, due to Sona having an Ultimate Skin, her kit won't get any significant changes to gameplay, in which case she will be nerfed eventually, probably on her W values, for another year.
