Diana rework

I have been going through a lot of champions I used to play and coming up with some ideas on how to make them useful again meta wise, as well as fun to play. One of those is Diana. She is Classified as a diver by Riot, but nobody plays her that ways. She is played to snowball and one shot squishies with her ult double cast, basically a tankier, faster bursting Akali.

My idea would be to embrace this Diver identity and help Diana feel more unique(-ish).

  • Remove AS bonus form passive, but now has Bonus Attack Speed at level 1: +15%.

  • Reduced Q's AP ratio to 60% from 70%. Auto attacks against enemies under the effects of moonlight reset the duration of moonlight.

  • To compensate for the added offensive power in other areas, the W base damage value reduced to 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 / 60 (+ 20% AP) per orb, (60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180 (+ 60% AP) total magic damage). Mana cost is changed to 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 / 85.

  • E is now current ult Lunar Rush, but is only castable on target with moonlight, but has a much lower CD since it can no longer be double cast. (6 / 5 / 4 / 3 / 2 seconds). Now: 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 mana. Magic Damage: (60 / 100 / 140 / 180 / 220 (+ 60% AP))

  • Ult is now her Current E Moonfall. ACTIVE: Moonfall pulls all enemies in AOE (like Orianna ult) to her. Active also applies moonlight to all enemies and crippling for the same as the movement slow amount (35 / 45 / 55% ) for 3 seconds. Moonfall grant 5% damage reduction for every enemy champion pulled in by Moonfall for 6 seconds. Now: CD: (100 / 80 / 60 seconds). Mana Cost: 60 / 80 / 100 mana. PASSIVE: Diana gains passive Bonus Attack Speed (+20 / 40 / 60%). Attack speed is increased by 50% after casting an ability for the next 3 attacks, (+30 / 60 / 90%).

These changes would shift her toward an AP bruiser, in similar Jax/Rumble hybrid, but being purely AP focused. Removing the ability to double ult cast instantly would make it impossible for her to blow up anyone unless mega fed, but because she can just keep cycling Crescent Strike and Lunar Rush to stick to someone over longer period. The ult is kind of pure utility, along her to be useful contribution once she dives, with the AS slowing cripple (which is a very unique CC option that would help Diana have a reason for being picked beyond damage/engage), as well as a possible double E cast, but slower at least with the 2 second E CD lockout (Q > E > R > E).

Thoughts, opinions?

Only problem, is the ult. It would push her to much towards a team fighting bruiser, which would in turn mean she wouldn't be able to have much in the way of 1v1 fighting potential, which is probably what she should be push more towards with a rework?

Can't really have both as that's both kinda busted and overlapping in champion roles.

I have mentioned and thought of ways to rework her current kit as well as I enjoy her theme but playing her is well not so great. My ideas were along the lines of a diver yet still more of that assasin fighter combination. The part of her kit that I feel is underwhelming is her moonlight. I thinks it's a very unique idea and only utilizing it on two abilities is kind of weird. I believe that you mentioned some very good ideas which I will expand on I like her ult where it is at but I agree that the double ult leaves absolutely no counter play and only allowing it on moonlighted targets is a great idea. That gives her definite windows of opportunity.

I made a post on this a couple of months ago and then reksai got her mini rework and that's how I think Diana should be reworked I think moonlight should act as a mark which would give her clear engages but increase its duration that way it's not comepletely predictable. Along with that the one piece of her kit I believe you are missing is some outplay/escape mechanic if her e now was changed to only pull in marked targets and push away unmarked it would 1 give her outplay and 2 better define who to dive and target since she is kind of a bursty assasin. Lastly her passive is just kind of awkward unless I build off tank it's kind of useless if I am aiming to burst people why is my passive geared towards a prolonged fight? If the empowered auto was applied after an ability use with a mild cooldown it would much better suit her role.
