How to Spot a Scripter From a Scripter

I posted something a while back that got wildly popular where I admitted I was scripting and that I had been for 2 years but that I was done and wanted to stop people from scripting.

I know people hate scripters and if you hate me that's fine, but A lot of people wanted me to make this post about the most obvious signs someone is scripting. I'll give as much examples and reasons why as possible so hopefully you can tell because some are not as obvious as others.

Also, Mods please have mercy. I am not giving any info on how to script just the obvious signs of spotting one so they can be reported.

  1. Canceling an Auto attack to dodge an Ability. This is the most common one. Even challenger players aren't good enough to actually do this consistently so if you see someone do this more then once to perfectly dodge something it is most likely a script.

  2. Hugging walls to dodge skillshots. Some players can do this but it isn't all that common and if they keep doing it over and over to dodge things like blitz hooks there is no way they are doing it legitimately.

  3. Dodging a skill shot even if it means they will die. The best example of this is being chased by the enemy team and walking backwards or towards the enemy team to dodge something like a Lux E or Gragas Q.

  4. Casting abilities off cooldown without paying attention to mana. If you are laning vs a varus and he is just casting Q off cooldown the second it is up in any situation no matter his mana its most likely a script. Especially if he is hitting most of them.

  5. Inhuman skill shot accuracy. The best example of this is with Xerath. He's at his blue buff and the mid laner is two ult shots from death. Xerath ults and hits both and kills him but has two shots left, he immediately in under a second goes from shooting mid lane to shooting bot lane with the last two, regardless of their health. Another good example is Ezreal just hitting every single Q no matter how you dodge it.

  6. Absolutely Flawless Orbwalking- While this is possible to achieve in higher elos, if you see this happening in lower elos it most likely is a script. Nobody in silver is going to be attack moving that good.

  7. Doing things in fights that make absolutely 0 sense and a normal person wouldnt even think of while fighting. A good example of this is firing Draven Ult or Jinx ult at your base knowing exactly when someone is going to back there while in the middle of a Team fight.

  8. Flashing for no reason. You walk into lane level 1 as blitzcrank and throw your hook at the enemy ADC and they just insta flash it at level 1. 99.9 percent of people would not flash a level 1 blitz hook knowing it wont kill them. Definitely a script, especially if they keep flashing it every time its up.

  9. Using active items for no reason. Scripts have a combo button set to something like spacebar or V and when they press it the script assumes they are fighting instead of trading. So if you are laning vs Draven and he hits you with an Axe then activates youmous for no reason hes probably scripting if he keeps doing it off cooldown.

  10. Perfect animation canceling. Riven and renekton are the biggest abusers of this. This doesnt always mean scripting as some players are that good but most of the time it is, especially in low elo.

  11. Perfectly using an ability that counters another ability without fail such as fiora using Riposte perfectly on every single Riven W.

  12. Perfectly canceling abilities or channels the second they start. This could be draven E'ing Warwick out of his ult perfectly every time to Vayne condemning Nunu the second he starts ulting even if she is not focusing him at all.

  13. Having a losing record on most champs. Plays Xerath for the first time ever. Goes 25-3

  14. Focusing one person so hard it actually makes no sense. Scripts have a bar up to 5 that you set on who you want to focus. 1 Being the least and 5 being the most and if the enemy sivir just non stop runs through the enemy team to only fight the enemy kalista thats a pretty obvious sign. Or they are just terrible.

  15. Using an ability to dodge another ability no matter what such as lucian E'ing every single time Ashe uses her W

  16. Players know when you are ganking them no matter what even if you scan and know they dont have wards and they do this multiple times.

  17. Canceling abilities and autoes on someone else to KS another kill.

  18. Using abilties perfectly without fail. Zed R's back at the perfect amount of damage to kill his target with R, Kalista always rends the second it will kill and never messes up. Twitch uses E perfectly, etc

  19. Never attempts to dodge the skillshot until it is actually thrown. Most players will micro back and forth trying to make them miss. A Scripter will just auto dodge it and therefore won't do that

  20. Spits out a perfect combo in under a second consistently. This is most common on champs like Ahri or Velcoz where they just cast all their abilities in under a second perfectly knowing they will all hit.

There are more minor ones but these are the 20 Major ones i could think of and ill add to it if I think of more. Good luck in your reporting!

Mercy granted. I liked your last thread, and I read all of this one and liked it too. I see nothing here out of line. Carry on :)

instant dodging from the fog of war, I had played with a Vayne who basically R + Q'd back and condemned the enemy Leblanc the second Leblanc jumped on her with W from jungle, no wards put by my team there.

Guys... I think this guy might be a scripter.

Jokes aside, this is a very educational thread and I recommend the Gameplay Wardens take note of that.

This is really handy, wish I could save it to a favorites folder for later.

I threw a Chogath q at a Jinx from a bush and she ran out of it then warded the bush so she could auto me! How obvious can you get? And she wasnt walking at the length of the q range and backing off to bait if thats what you're thinking. She even admitted it.

One time i was playing Syndra against, i think a Ryze, and i had my Q taken off of quick cast, it was on quick cast with indicator, so i held the button and hovered over him, he immidiately began to move in the opposite direction of my Q, like i could litterally control his movements with my Q.

What if I told you, Faker does all this but isn't scripting.

invisiblecat16/23/2017, 1:58:50 AM5 votes

Is there such thing as a vision script?

can I just say that I have spit out a few insanely good combos and a few bs skill shot landings and some bs wall dodging but keep in mind that if they don't do it consitantly it might just be pure luck

Rikari6/23/2017, 1:38:20 AM3 votes

Stealth dodges. this sounds like fog of war, basically the same, but when they dash out of range for single target abilities that already landed, and auto attacks. Had a vayne try to dodge shaco's auto attacks and roll outta Nasus' Q.

Evasive scripting is done often these days, you can spot it in a glance. Just played against a Lee that constantly did jump out of Morgana's Q, W and even R milliseconds before getting hit. Just a few pixels out of the area, but that's enough, right?

Some scripters seem to have the 'ability' to swap runes in-game. I sometimes meet enemies without visible runes in pre-game and in-game. While in game, 1-time I get hit by a meteor, or an Aerie, the other time by a light flash, by the same enemy. That don't match up....

It seems like the loading for these type of teammates or enemies always takes longer, but that could be just in my mind.

I spotted about 20 websites with LoL scripts on the web. Some just offer item-packages for champs, others let you play automatically. I reckon they are to be used to build accounts, just for selling them on-line.

If i'm correct, RIOT does not allow for scripts that can influence the in-game behavior. Why don't they end the possibility for scripting in any way?

Brgds.

  1. Using abilties perfectly without fail. Zed R's back at the perfect amount of damage to kill his target with R

U wot? Zed even gets a symbol above the enemy telling him when the ult will finish them. The way this is written also seems to imply that doing this at all is a sign of scripting; this really is just the Zed reading his ult before using it and not being blind....

Note that a kalista orb walking isn't 100% a scripter.

Most kalista players just go to settings and bind attack move click to A and all you have to do is spam A in the direction you want to move, it will hit any champion and also move kalista in that direction so you don't have to click at all.

If anybody is approaching you, spam a.

2_._ Hugging walls to dodge skillshots.

I'll be honest this concept is foreign to me. How giving yourself less space to dodge helps at dodging? Or did you mean dodging skillshots by walking into a wall?

this was too long fo rmy tiny attention span to read so i give upvote anyway

Xerath dealing damage with Q even tho it didn't hit me.

His Q reached full extension and I was away like 1 meter from it's end and I still got hit...

I wonder if Rito actually need players' report to ban these scripters or if they have systems that detect them. I don't think it isn't too difficult for Rito to find out patterns of scripts.

Solidarius6/23/2017, 4:42:28 AM1 votes

idk about your list... seems like a few of those could be someone geting lucky or outplaying someone.

MeDicenWera6/23/2017, 5:11:02 AM1 votes

I've never seen a video of someone scripting and always wanted to. I know if you're doing it you probably won't upload it,but even like a youtuber playing against a scripter. The thread kinda makes me imagine all sort of scenarios tho lol.

What about inhuman reaction time?

Also, aiming skillshots with the target perfectly in the middle, even if it's not optimal.
