Are you really that lazy Riot? (Dominion removal)

I can't say I played Dominion the whole time, but I enjoyed it then and now, and I had lots of fun this week, playing Dominion the whole time. You neglected that gamemode, and for that mistake you punish the players that enjoyed it by removing it. If something is not up to date and has its flaws, the solution is removing it? Following that logic, let's say goodbye to Urgot, Yorick, Galio and their friends. They have their flaws and low playrates, but instead of reworking it, you could just remove them. But you don't. You will put lots of efford into it and rework them. So why don't you do that to Dominion? A few balance choices here and there and a few gameplay improvement could make the gamemode more fun for more players, and could raise the playrate. Even if you wouldn't do that, why do you have to remove it, there are players that enjoy it regardless of Dominions flaws? The players that don't play Dominion don't care whether it exists or not, but the players who like it will be sad because of the removal. Even if you bring other gamemodes, none of them will reach Dominions simplicity. I like Dominion because it is kinda relaxing to me. No big teamfights where you have to focus and keep an overview, no need to get vision, and usually everyone knows what to do without having to think about a strategy. I am just disappointed that you remove a whole part of the game instead of upgrading it. Not like Riot is in a financial crisis...

Wait, what? You're mostly right about the teamfighting part (because of the skirmishing nature), but the rest of that stuff is questionable. Unless you're talking about warding specifically, vision is massively important in Dominion. Furthermore, coordinating with your team is crucial because of the mode's emphasis on rotations.

Anyway, give ARAM a try. The random champs and teamfighting aspects might dissuade you a bit, but ARAM matches your other two points better than Dom does.
