New Master Yi Bruiser Build?

So the build is good against practically any champion as long as you're ahead of you're not ahead then try to farm as much as you can. So here's the build! item 3047 oritem 3111 item 1419 oritem 1416 intoitem 3153 thenitem 3071 thenitem 3022 and complete it withitem 3124 This gives a lot of tankiness and damage output at the same time because of the black cleaver rageblade and the 12% maw health damage from item 1419 and item 3153 . This will also shred tanks pretty fast as well. Most of the time you'll get kited by their mid laner or ad carry so that's where item 3022 comes in and provides with slows for your team to help you and catch up to them. And if they summoner 4 you can use the active of item 3153. Of course you can replace certain items like item 3124 for item 3742 or item 3026 oritem 3156 and sometimes item 3075 or item 3143 you can also replace item 3124 for item 3072 and item 3022 for item 3065 or item 3748 . Of Course this build has probably been used before but i find myself to be the first one to make up this build. Despite the fact that i'm silver and Master Yi is low elo freelo (try to say that 10 times fast) i think it can still work around Gold and Maybe Platnium 5 or 4. You can't get killed as fast and due to your tankiness of health, armour you can get 6 stacks of item 3124 pretty quickly. Against Khazix orRengar get a item 3742 right after item 3153. This armour and health will help you survive their burst. Either way you can still fight them without deadmans because of your W: Meditate which gives you a 40%-60% Damage reduction depending on it's level. During the meditate you get your passive up and your E and Ult Are paused so you can come back out of Meditate and start cutting them up like sushi and you can follow them if they try to escape with Alpha Strike. Also your E gives you TRUE DAMAGE and your w will give you your passive right after getting out of Meditate and your Ult:Highlander makes you immune any type of slows including attack speed slows, though you need ultimate for you to be immune to slows and attack speed slows. With this build you can also focus the tank first in teamfights and instantly go onto their mid laner or ad carry since you're pretty tanky and and kill people pretty fast making the teamfight much easier. But don't forget there is Crowd Control so you can't just press ulti and start 1v5ing and then die. The champions that can easily kill you are fed champions that can easily juke you or blind you or do more damage to you before you kill them which is unlikely. Well you're pretty nice for reading all of this and maybe comment down below and ask me if this worked for you! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

If you want to be decently tanky and still do a bunch of damage, why not: item 3031 item 3006 item 3046 item 3074 item 3143 item 3156 ?

Nearly 3k hp, over 100 of both resists, still about 300 AD (Q and E have AD ratios and you have a huge AS steroid from ult), and 50% crit (with IE passive and it works w/ Q too).

Actually it's 2663 Hp unless if you have Scaling hp yellows making it 2877 HP. You have a decent amount of attack speed and over 100 of both resists which is good and 50% crit. This is a good build but this build doesn't seem good against juggernauts or ant type of tank with good damage. Yes i know you have true damage and crits but despite the fact that you have randuins, that gives you armour and crit reduction but they can get black cleaver and cleave that armour then ask for their team. Plus with this build you'd die from tanks like rammus with a thornmail and 300 armour. Either way this is pretty good but i would just call that something like "Crit Lifesteal AD Defensive YI"

Add in health from masteries and it's a bit closer to 3k, but I will grant that it probably come out a bit under that still. I have actually used this exact build in the past (going as far back as season 2? on Yi), it's also my usual build on Yasuo (where I think it's perhaps a bit more 'optimal' than on Yi).

Actually hopped in the practice tool to check, 2713 hp w/ my runes masteries (for lane Yi), 147 ar and 129 mr, 353 AD (386 w/ item 2140), dropping to 321 (351 w/ item 2140) while E expired and on CD. AS is 1.454, increasing to 1.997 during ult.

Q reports max of: 165+386 (+348 for Q crit) damage E reports max of: 50+69 true dmg on-hit

Botrk will give you so much more damage than a Ravenous and Yi has decent waveclear with the Q.

Yea, especially w/ new BotRK, it's a viable substitute for Ravenous Hydra. I like Hydra for the active, you can pretty much 1-shot a squishy by Q+AA+Hydra active them (especially if you get lucky w/ the crit on Q and the AA). I will admit this build is sub-optimal at killing tanky enemies, but that's not the point of the build. The point is to kill squishies, and it's very good at that job.

I actually did some a quick comparison at full build between item 3074 and item 3153 via practice tool. My finding was that DPS against target dummy when it was low hp (100), was less w/ item 3153 than item 3074 by about 10%. But was quite a bit more when the Dummy had most of it's hp (it has 10k though, so realistically, you won't see much beyond 4k most the time in a real game; excepting Chogath being in it). So I think I can say that item 3074 is better against squishies (especially w/ active for burst), but item 3153 is better against tankier targets.

100 HP is nothing though. Do the dummies have a lot of armour? Or did you mean a 1000 hp? If ravenous does more damage to squishies, that is a surprise to me.

Note: Target Dummy has 100 AR and MR.

Yes, point was that DPS is lower at low current health values (and improves by about 4% of their max health per second in additional DPS, averaged over their rapidly depleting health bar, so that's about 40 per 1k health, after the 100 armor). DPS was around 700 for BotRK and 850 for Rav. But part of why Rav is useful is that it also adds burst (more than BotRK active), which is especially powerful against squishies (you can just about 1-shot a squishy with Q+AA+hydra active, especially if you get both Q and AA to crit).

Replace Rav with BT and you have a fairly standard crit Yi build.

I don't really see why one would prefer item 3072 over item 3074, I suppose if you don't value the burst add from hydra active or passive regen and AoE dmg that applies 50% of LS much the extra LS and shield are worth it. But I think the active in particular is quite handy. item 3153 seems like a more worthwhile alternative (trading some AD for more AS and another, targeted slow and gaining % current hp damage)

The shield is exactly why BT is better - a crit Yi, once he gets his crit, is only afraid of being bursted, and Rav doesn't help with that. Also, Rav damage can't crit, so you don't get heals from that either.

I supposed the active helps because crit Yi only gets 1 attackspeed item, but even with just PD and 'Serkers, it's gonna be really hard to efficiently Tiamat.

BT is basically the tank lifesteal item, and even with 3k health, an extra 350 is super helpful. And the AoE from Rav is situational.

Ravenous Hydra's damage (passive and active AoE) applies 50% of your lifesteal. Also, it's not about the DPS so much as the burst, which can be the difference between chunking a squishy for 70%+ of their max and them then flashing out and you getting locked down and bursted, or them getting 100-0'd and you getting 70% of your CDs and getting your Q back in a moment and being able to avoid the CC chain (and having denied them enough damage to delete you, survive and clean up the fight; ideally anyways...)

I think you're pretty safe from being insta-deleted with item 3143+item 3156 already. (Keep in mind that, unless you were attacking stuff fairly recently, that shield is likely decaying or already gone by the time a fight starts. So it might not help you avoid burst at all.) If you are still getting deleted, then I suspect that the engagement decision itself was probably a bad one. That said, the resistances of this build do synergize nicely with the shield, and I definitely don't think it's a bad choice.

I'd say bruiser yi would look more like this item 1419 item 3153 item 3111 item 3022 item 3742 item 3026

What you described at least w/ the first build is on-hit yi (except for BC), I'd call this bruiser on hit yi, b/c of the mallet adding a bunch of hp and deadmans/GA for resists/ revive.

This build is really really good for certain situations. Of course i haven't really learned the whole thing of bruiser meaning "tanky and doing decent damage" but i still find my build like a bruiser build. If i removed Guinsoos for deadmans or Guardian Angel then i got your build. Either way UPVOTE.

Personally I'd rather go item 1419 item 3748 item 3153 item 3124 item 3026 in that order with item 3006 .

Titanic Hydra second is really good for ganks, it gives a lot of burst. It's onhit also synergizes amazingly with Yi's passive and Rageblade. I find that Bork second is far too squishy and leaves you really open to burst. This build doesn't have much resists but it's damage is incredible and you have a decent sized health pool, along with lifesteal and lots of attack speed.

The main difference between this and your builds is 1) The Titanic is ESSENTIAl. The onhit is sooooo good, especially with Rageblade. It gives everything Yi could possible want (besides lifesteal) - DPS for damage, burst (active) for oneshotting squishies, and health for more survivability so you aren't oneshotted, and 2) Cleaver is not necessary. Why would you want Cleaver when Bork/Rageblade/GA are so much better? It doesn't give attack speed, it doesn't give lifesteal, and you don't need armor shred to deal with tanks because of your E's true damage.

Frightning1 votes

Titanic isn't very efficient unless you are building a lot of health, so the reasons you choose Titanic are better served by item 3074, imo (one thing this isn't getting you is the 350 health from Titanic Hydra itself though).

Building On-Hit Yi is the norm man lol

JeffLeague1231 votes

Yeah but it's called bruiser for a reason. Either way this is somewhat On-Hit Yi and also pretty tanky for the normal build unless if some items are replaced.

These 2 are usually my standard items on Yi: item 1419 item 3153 My defensive items would be: (I always get 1-2 of these items.) item 3742 item 3143 item 3139 item 3065 item 3091 item 3053 item 3748 item 3022 item 3026 item 3102 My offensive items would be: (I only get these when I feel gutsy.) item 3072 item 3812 item 3074 item 3046 item 3142 item 3071 item 3006 item 3124 item 3031 item 3078 And here are my boots: item 3111 item 3047 item 3009

So some example builds for me would be:

item 1419 item 3153 item 3111 item 3814 item 3139 item 3091 A build like this would work against AP and/or CC heavy comps.

item 1419 item 3153 item 3047 item 3143 item 3053 item 3742 A build like this would work against AD or autoattack heavy comps.

item 1419 item 3153 item 3006 item 3143 item 3065 item 3026 A build like this can work when the enemy has a good amount of mixed damage but relatively low CC.

item 1419 item 3153 item 3009 item 3124 item 3071 item 3026 A build like this can work when the enemy has low defense and that you can charge on them pretty well.

item 1419 item 3153 (item 3111 / item 3047) item 3748 item 3022 item 3026 A build like this can work when the enemy lacks any upfront DPS or %HP damage and guarantees your HP is just above 3K.

Edit: item 1419 item 3153 (item 3111 / item 3047) item 3156 item 3053 item 3748 item 3026 item 2138 And this, is my favorite build called the, "Giant Yi". Like what the title says, Yi's model here is huge and gets bigger when get damaged, the bonus HP I get from Sterak's synergizes well with my Titanic, the tenacity and HP of the Elixir of Iron is nice to have and overall, can work in any comp. I'd suggest taking out Maw and GA for other items if the situation doesn't call for those you to build those items.

It's basically mix-and-match according to the situation for me. But OP's build isn't bad and in fact does have some good points.
