BE and XP

BE gain is higher than IP gain. Possibly not super noticeable, though. I had 12 games of mix and match ARAM and SR and that got me to level 31 - from that I got 810 BE worth of things, according to riot, one of the worse rolls. We'll have to see if XP requirements are any different at other levels (31 -> 32 is the same as 30 -> 31, ftr.)

Even if BE is higher, the actual satisfaction behind it is lackluster. Super short games barely feel like they contribute to my XP, and the levels are too spaced out (~9 hour session after factoring in queue times, breaks, and some other things just for a single level). After first win of the day I don't feel as much progression.

The ability to buy champions from shards is great, but feels meaningless now that I own so many of them, I don't get shards for ones that I don't own anymore. Mind you - I'm only missing 4 champions now, so eh.
I honestly think IP was just as lackluster as this is, since it took a lot of play in the old system, but now with everything being gated into rewards that don't feel extremely rewarding and only happen every so often, it ultimately feels fairly lackluster all around.
That said... I do now feel like there's more to work towards as a level 30 player with the leveling system, and now I feel like there's enough BE sinks that I'll never really feel like I'm not getting anything for playing. And I think that the whole idea behind shards is fantastic, and giving people the ability to choose whether to keep shards or disenchant them is great too. Newer players likely get more champions faster.
I think the biggest problem is that a lot of us are in the sort of lull where we don't have a lot more champions to buy, so we rarely get shards for them, and then they also take a lot of BE to craft/buy. I feel like a lot of people are in the stage where the only champions they don't own are 4800/6300 champs and it feels slightly frustrating to have a lot of downtime between progression towards such big goals - especially when it takes 6 levels just to guarantee one 4800 champ. I'm not sure if there's a lot you could do to fix it, but I think it's likely a source of a lot of discontentment around the system so far.
