New Galio is Awful

Riot has done a great job on most of their updates/remakes. However, Galio is not one of them, they have completely lost the look and feel of the original Galio. Not even sure why they needed to update him when he is great in Gold and below, which is where most of the player base is located.

He was a lot of fun for me because of his two skill shots(love skill shots), and the perfect timing needed on his (team) shielding ability and his ult.

The skill set on the new Galio needed to just be a new champ!

The other Riot missteps were destroying original Karma, who was crazy unique, with a pretty boring mage kit. And destroying the old LOOKING Trundle with a model that moves just like Wukong.

I feel like they did a pretty good job, actually. Galio was a bit confused, as he had melee basic attacks, but all ranged abilities except his ult, but no real gapcloser to get close for his ult. Now he has a solid identity (melee, armored, anti-mage colossus) and a good theme (giant guardian who comes in your hour of need).

they reworked him because, he is hardly played anymore. I dont love the rework but think its an ok one.

I dont feel the look of him fit how the rift looks

The work done on Karma was a travesty and I do not think the Development team cares one bit. I have to disagree, though . . . the new Galio looks cool. At least he has some of his old kit still in him. When you compare it to Karma . . . . . it is 10x better.

With more than 120 champs there will always be oddballs that are not played mainstream and that is a good thing!

I feel like you never even played the new Galio and are just hating it base on how he looks and not how his kit plays now.

I disagree with your points on both galio and trundle. Trundle needed a home in the lore, the v/u was in response to him becoming a frejord (sp) character.

On Galio, he has abysmal pick/ban rate meaning no one was playing him, when no one is playing a champ it means something must be done to get that champ to be played again, hence rework. Galio's new kit makes much more sense than his old one, it's not a "flash is down guys so we have to wait" scenario anymore. Galio is still a big counter engage champion but now his kit makes it easier to opperate under that identity.

I'll let you in on a little secret, the new Galio is fun and he still has 2 skill shots.
