My opinion on New Quinn. Suggestions before release.

It no longer resemble's the champion, and that's sad, because Quinn currently is unique and fun. I'm not claiming to be some Quinn main since release or anything, personally I don't like to "main" anyone, but I always return to Quinn because of how much I just enjoy playing as her. She has problems, but mostly it's just with stuff that flat-out doesn't work. I've posted a drastic Quinn rework idea before, but not to the extent of what's being done now. I think I get what you're trying to do with the character, but it just eliminates her identity. Valor becomes as worthless as Ashe's bird, only now he has to carry the adc around on his back (Effectively anyway). If I'm understanding what you want for the character, then I disagree with the idea that she needs to be completely relaunched like what currently seems to be what's going on.

Your goals for Quinn, if I understand correctly,

  • It seems like you want to eliminate the assassin role for her (or at least weaken it to promote her as a botlane carry)
  • Remove her blind.
  • Promote her mobility
  • Give her more ability to farm with Q, to compensate for her short AA Changes to achieve
  • You tried to compensate for her lack of "chasing to finish off an enemy" by turning her Q into an execute.
  • Remove Valor's ability to fight with enemies (Also to promote her in botlane? I assume because in botlane turning into a melee auto attacker isn't useful against other ADC's. So removing it makes her less likely to go to other lanes.)
  • Turn ult into movespeed buff

These all-in-all aren't necessarily bad ideas, but these create new problems, and do so without retaining the character that the few who play her love. I'm going to try and make a rework suggestion below that adheres to these ideas, but keeps her intact. Keep in mind, I'm not going to discuss numbers, and you can skip this part because it's not really that important to what I'm trying to say.

Auto Attack - Faster animation, make it less easy to cancel, reduce overall attack speed if necessary. Passive - No longer goes on CD if Quinn doesn't attack the marked target. If Quinn does attack a marked target, her W CD is reduced by 3 seconds. If Quinn attacks a marked minion and doesn't get the last hit, the ability is put on Cooldown. If she does, Valor can mark another minion within 3 seconds. Q - Fires in the same pattern, but is no longer aoe. Marks the target, and deals damage. If the Target is already marked, applies a blind. W - Still grants vision. Now has Valor Caw if invisible units are in range when activated, without revealing them. Also, marks the champion closest** by at the activation**, once the vision wears** off.** (So press W to reveal the area for three seconds, has the enemy champion that WAS standing closest to you upon activating to become marked once the those three seconds wear off) E - Marks the target, jumps off. If the target is already marked lands closer and deals bonus damage. E now moves faster based around a % of her movement speed. R - Activates as it does in live. While in Tag-Team: No longer triggers Skystrike when put on CD. If it runs out without her ult being reactivated Quinn Q - Now empowers Valor's next AA, and blinds them. Is no longer aoe. W - Same as live, does not warn of invisible units. E - Damage now increases based around movement speed. R - Triggers Skystrike, with reduced damage from live. No longer deals % of missing health as damage. Enemies hit by skystrike are now slowed by a percentage of Quinn's movement speed.

Here's how she sticks with your changes now.

  1. Reducing her Assassin role. Quinn is now better at chasing, and can more reliably get her marks off. While this of course makes her more adept at 1v1ing an enemy champions, her lack of an execute makes up for it.
  2. Removing her blind. I'm sorry but the blind is a staple of the character, getting rid of it in it's entirety is just bad for those who already play her. It is right that blinds are frustrating, but this isn't Teemo. This is a skillshot, which is now harder to land and now only triggers on specific circumstances to offer some counterplay.
  3. Promote her mobility. Abilities that scale with her movement speed give her incentive to build items like Zephyr, and Youmuu's. As well as just giving her more freedom to move around the map.
  4. Compensate for her auto attacks. If Harrier keeps triggering Quinn can keep farming. She can't blindly attack what Valor chooses for her for fear of missing and putting it on CD, but if she uses it effectively it can be a powerful tool to help her farming. Of course her AA range can still be a problem, but with her improved dueling potential she can force a fight and contest when they attempt to zone her. As well, it makes up for her lack of waveclear.

Now obviously, I don't expect my ideas for the new kit to be implemented, there're way too many changes, and it's alot of new script that'd be needed for one character. That's fine though, to be honest I don't want them too, Quinn on live is already a character I, and alot of other people love. Quinn never was about moving fast. That was a bonus, keeping her speed doesn't retain the champion at all. Everything about her kit aside from her W made her unique. If you want to make a champion who's entirely about moving fast, make one. Don't relaunch a character that already exists. Quinn is an Assassin, that is at her best fighting other Assassins, and bursting down squishies. Yes her playerbase is small but don't turn your backs on them because they like something that's different. If you want people to use her, put her up in free week more often, talk about her in the patch notes, try some small changes from time to time buffs/nerfs whatever. Let people know she exists and if they still don't like her, then try doing what people have been asking for. Fix her auto-attacks, make it so she doesn't cancel them as easily. Make Valor more reliable with her passive. Adjust her E so it works as intended. Quinn has legitimate problems, but changing her role and concept because she doesn't do what she was created to do is just a middle finger to the part of the community that uses her. It's like if Tahm Kench and Ekko were no longer able to activate their abilities on jungle monsters, because that's not what you wanted them to do. This rework that's been proposed, seriously needs to be reconsidered, or scrapped entirely. Quinn can wait for a full rework. The people that like her will keep playing her until a new idea is brought forward, that makes more sense for the character. I realize how entitled that sounds, but these changes are coming forward as a result of the new season, not because of any specific new problems that have come forward with her.
