be system riots new way to squeeze customers

ok ... so this be system is actually a system for riot to make those lazy players with some money in their card to pay for champions too now at the begining i was ok with it .. but as i leveled up the xp needed for level up have gone up too im at level 43 now at lvl 30 you needed almost 2500 xp to go the next level and it toke me one day to level up ... now i need 3264 xp to go to the next level this is almost 1000 xp more ... now it takes me more than a day to level up like one day and a half

with the ip system i could get almost 1000 to 1100 ip a day but with this system in 4 days i got 2000 which is more then 2000 less then before

now at the begining at level 30 to 35 youre ok and the system is better than ip system and i think riot intended it like that for fooling people .. but 35 and higher its not better its much worse

i understand this is not a big deal for people who played for 3 seasons or more because they got alot of be in the preseason and they probebly have most of the champs and are happy with it but the players who didnt get alot of be like my self or the ones who made a new account are in deep poop ...

i dont get it ... why do this riot ??? i my self have spended about 300 us $ on skins ... and other games give champions free like dota gives all of them free and dont even ask for ip or anything either i also have bought 3 champions with rp too before diana fizz and riven ... but now i think ive been assumed a fool ... i will not waste a penny on this game anymore not even for skins and if this goes higher as i level up i will delete the game

i know this is a business for you but before you already made more money then any game and thats more then you deserve for a game that has no positive effect or any use for the world and its only ment to entertain .. now if you make me pay 5$ for some food i say ok if you make me pay 50$ i say oh shiet that has to be one good meal and i have to try it once in my life but you ask for 500$ i will tell you to get lost

I agree that Blue Essence is the new way that Riot will force people to purchase RP. The cost to unlock champion mastery levels 6 and 7 are waaaay too high and the rate at which you get blue essence is just awful. Riot needs to make blue essence much easier to get otherwise they might as well remove this new system entirely.

xp requirements reset at 50 and every 25 levels afterwards.

overall you gain more BE in the long run now than IP before.

Thats just wrong.

That still seems like exploitative design. Rather than give players a linear rate of currency growth, they give them a rate approaching zero, which then resets.

At that point, it's trying to make players feel like they can't effectively acquire currency. It'd be like receiving yearly pay checks.

How does it exploit them? When the Level speed slows down that is in preparation for a milestone level which has a large bonus for the player before resetting to the maximum leveling speed.

Skinner box research shows that irregular reward intervals are better at getting the subjects to engage with the system. It's designed to make people want to play more to see what shards they get in the next level up, or rewards from the next milestone, not to make players think they have to buy champions to unlock them.

If you want to go there then it's exploiting gambling aspects of psychology which are equally exploitative.

And while it might make players "more engaged", artificially increasing irregularity is going to inherently be viewed as the more undesirable option. There is a reason we don't get our paychecks annually, but we still measure them on an annual scale.

It's fairly well researched that excess irregularity causes discomfort. Yes, it will keep you attentive towards the thing being irregular, but that would seem to be a response to an increased level of stress with that unpredictable nature of the thing.

Intentionally increasing people's stress of earning is going to increase their desire to alleviate the discomfort of the unpredictability, and who would've thunk that they already offer a service which allows you to make predictably reliable progress of acquiring currency/champions. It's exploitative, because its influence on your purchasing habits is through negative emotional aversion.

Riot made a cure (RP purchasing) and then developed the illness (the stress of BE).

That system "confirmed by reds" takes into account the FWOTD bonus. It is the only thing that makes their math hold up. And it relies on it. If you simply want to grind out games, you will gain BE/IP so much slower than before.

You sir, are wrong.

They do their math for people who play up to an average of 12 games per day, that's around 6 hours of play time every single day of the week and for every day they play less than 12 games they have to make up for it on another day by playing even more. Streamers are the only people who consistently hit numbers like that except they also tend to hop around at least two accounts so even they see better returns from the FWotD than that.

What matters is how much people get from how much they will play. They will play less than an average of 12 games per session because that's insane (but even then they still end up ahead).

even if what you say is true ( i have no info about it) its still way way worse ... 25 levels at this rate will take more than a month for average player and at least 3 weeks for someone who plays alot ... the only reason why i think they replaced ip with this is because this one is more profitable

25 levels also gives a player around 25,000 BE, enough to buy around 4x 6300 champions. If that actually took a month that would be much faster than the IP system where players generally earned enough for a single 6300 champion in a month.

And this is before considering that this season marks the end of paying IP for runes, undeniably meaning that players will be unlocking champions faster.

Your logic is just so flawed... I dont even know where to begin. You don't seem to even truly understand the numbers involved here. The design they have spouted is made to LOOK faster only. In truth it is slower and will cause people to spend more money who are new to the game or just getting back into it.

It is a slower system to unlock champs than before. You typing made up words trying to prove it is not, is sort of ridiculous. They have clearly stated their goal to make more RP money from the get go.

Dunno, i had about 6700 BE before zoe came out, used it to up my mastery on Syndra. Thats about 3,900 be right? Took me about two levels to earn it all back.

Then again, ive got all the champs i want. Still seems like you get currency faster if you ask me.

My numbers are based on the real charts we have received about the actual mechanics of the system. You're just hopping on the hate train because a post got a lot of upvotes on Reddit, but nothing you said is actually backed up by anything we've seen.

theredcorvus1 votes

Love how you totally ignore that the charts require the FWOTD bonus to make them compare to the old system. The fact is you cannot grind for BE like you used to. You can log on and win a game each day and thats it, and if you do exactly that, you'll get about the same BE/IP as you always got....because of the FWOTD bonus.

If you want to grind out BE or if you dont get on every day to play 1-3 games, you're screwed.

I've already explained the faults with your reasoning in response to another one of your posts. At this point you seem to be willfully spreading misinformation.

theredcorvus1 votes

Actually you haven't. You haven't used facts to state anything at all. You simply keep saying Riot knows best, in one form or another.
