Could be possible to have a Backpack?

https://d1u5p3l4wpay3k.cloudfront.net/dota2_gamepedia/a/aa/Interface00inventory.jpg?version=8ec69c1a441183d42d620da9dd2168af The reason: I will explain better with an example: You want to buy item 3095, in your inventory, you have item 1001, item 1083, item 2031 and item 1055, you can buy item 1038 and 2 of item 1036, but as you can see, you have no space for the thre items. Well with the backpack, you will be able to cahnge your empty item 2031 by one of the item 1036 in your backpack without needing to back base and sell your item 2031. It will be useful in lategame, for example, you could have item 2055, item 3157 when in cd, item 3083 when playing any champion without sustain, or even a second item 2138 / item 2139 / item 2140. I thimk is a good idea. But what do you think?

Edit: For all people worrying about balance, this is how works Backpack in DotA2: The Backpack is an extension of the inventory that allows heroes to carry three more items. Items in the backpack are inactive (cannot be activated or grant passive bonuses), and remain so for 6 seconds when moved from backpack. Items can be moved out of the backpack with no inactivity timer when near any shop. Items cooldown at only half the rate when they are anywhere except your main inventory. Gem of True Sight, Divine Rapier, Bloodstone, and Aegis of the Immortal cannot be placed in the backpack. Disassembling items will automatically try to fill your inventory or backpack first before dropping to the ground. Disassembling items auto-locks them from combining with other items. Use right click to unlock.

They kinda already have the courier items.. Ornn.. and they also used to have Denying an enemy CS.. GP used to be able to kill allied minions for gold and Morale boost... but they changed GP's E to an AOE Moral boost and then reworked him into the champ he is today.. I missed BankPlank.. GP5 runes with GP5 items..

Here's another idea: Add a potion slot, like the trinket slot. That way, potions don't take up a slot in your inventory, and there's no need to worry about people trying to bank their items with cooldowns or passives to exploit it.

If potions had their own slot, the devs could even consider adding mana potions back (since the user would have to give up health potions to hang onto them), or add in other non-sustain potions that let you push your advantage if you are good at trades. Movement speed? Vision range? Invisibility? There's lots of possibilities when you are limited to one type of potion at a time.

We don't need it because we have backing. Dota has tp scrolls but you actually have to buy them.

So what you're saying is if I want to rush GA and when it's put on CD I can put it into my backpack and slot in another item? Then when GA is ready again I can skip buying it again, not having to drop 2800g, slot it back into my inventory and play?

That seems like a lot of work and in most scenarios I'd rather keep the item on for stats. Even if it meant swapping it for a Warmogs.

First of all where the heck are you gonna get all the gold to buy these fantastic items? By then it's late game and you're already more or less doing the same method by buying and selling items with the extra 10k late game gold.

The backpacks in Dota were to address the meta with personal couriers. Of course since League doesn't have couriers it doesn't make a ton of sense to have backpacks.

Then again, something League could have always done with was home base inventory slots. So you can go back to fountain and have items to swap if you like - or surplus inventory. Coming from Dota it's always annoyed me how League doesn't have this, especially frustrating in situations such as being 6 slotted and needing control wards.

Dota has a backpack because Dota has a shitload of active/consumable items that you might want to cycle through, and because inventory management is more important in general.

It doesn't really make sense for League.

That would break the game entirely if you could swap items at will, even with a cooldown.

Maybe a backpack that let you queue up item buys (so you instantly got the items when you backed) but even then idk, DOTA has one because they have shops in the middle of the map so it's useful. For league you are going to have to back sometime so there's no point.

I think I'd like this because then I could have control wards and/or potions in late game without giving up my 5th and/or 6th item slots which obviously isn't optimal.

Give us a Courier and add Denying to the game while we're at it.

I like the idea of the backpack, with a few concerns/ideas for balancing:

  • Items in the backpack are effectively in stasis - they don't contribute anything to your stats, and their cooldowns are effectively frozen as well. They also don't stack.
  • Certain items cannot be put in the backpack: It is not possible to place items with HP sustain effects (increased Hp5, Lifesteal, item 3083 ) in the backpack. This is simply to prevent everyone building Warmog's in superlong games, or placing a BT in the pack and only swap it in to sustain in the next creepwave.

Not sure if a backpack would be the right call, exchangeing statsticks and powerfull actives in the lategame could be quite gamebreaking and also increase snowball(one of the main comeback mechanics is that at some point, no matter how fed you're opponent is, he will have max lvl and a full inventory and you will start to catch up) For some champions, beeing able to switch between teamfight builts and splitpush gear, or even between ap and ad would be potentially gamebreaking.

however, i think getting some extra sots for consumables only would go a long way, esepcailly when it comes to controllwards.

It's better to not use other MOBA's original idea added into this unique game. Think of something else, like the old rune system was unique and fun.

I think this would be a great addition to the game. Alternatively, they could simply add a backpack exclusively for consumables. (Potions, Wards, Elixirs, etc.) Which would solve the issue of them cluttering your inventory.
