I'm sorry Darius mains... But.
After seeing the c9 vs FNC match, I came to the conclusion Darius is never going to be a balanced champion.
Darius is like the opposite of Sivir: If Sivir turned every team comp into a hard engage comp before she was nerfed, then Darius turns every team comp into an anti-hard engage team comp.
Most of the good games with Darius I have seen so far in the LCS had one common thing: The team with Darius had a lot of ranged poke champions, whose main weakness is hard engaging... And they had Darius.
Noticing the pattern? Either hard engage and focus darius, who by the way is a tank, and get killed by the carries, or hard engage focus the priority targets, (and Darius, a tank, is far from being one) and allow Darius to activate his passive.
Yes, Darius has lost some games quite badly, but this was in games where the enemy team was not forced to hard engage. No, the teams weren't build around Darius, they were teams that could actually work well on their own.
Darius by himself negates every hard engage comp, and he is never going to be balanced for both soloQ and pro play. He is either going to get balanced around competitive and he is going to become a very situational pick, or he is going to get balanced around soloQ, become unviable at pro-play but remain very relevant in soloQ (I bet Darius mains pray the second will happen).
Secretly, of course, for the sake of all Darius mains out there, I hope I am wrong. Maybe simple number nerfs will balance his ridiculous strengths appropriately, maybe he will receive some tweaks, or maybe even if he is nerfed he will remain relevant in soloQ because people just don't play well against him. Or maybe I am 100% wrong and fnatic just didn't deal with the situation correctly (yasuo didn't give any serious lead to Darius I think, though).
And in case you were wondering, I am not making this thread because fnatic lost, and c9 deserved to win the game.
To all Darius mains out there, good luck.
In before I get downvoted to oblivion because my post is too long to read.
