Bronze to silver- Is it possible?

We've all watched videos of diamond players climbing from iron to diamond and we know that skill is how they do that. But what about climbing just one rank up?

I suggest that if you are a silver player, unless you qualify in silver, only luck will carry you out of bronze and nothing else. The reason why diamond players can solo carry in bronze is because they are so vastly better than the bronze player. But if you're only a little better then you're screwed.

The first two seasons I played league I qualified silver and I played in silver. That was way back when they had the deal where if you didn't play every week you would go down in rank. I stopped playing for a bit and came back and my rank was changed to bronze. I've never been able to climb out. For years.. I don't think its possible.

Iron, bronze, and silver ranks are all the same. Unless you're a diamond quality player that can make up for 3 AFK's on your team Winning and losing is literally a roll of the dice.

Prove me wrong.

This is categorically untrue. I got placed in B4 to start the season and have already tried once (and failed) on my S1 promos to get to gold. Currently sitting in S2, one decent hotstreak away from gold promos again.

Staying positive, focusing on teamwork, warding, and not treating your teammates like shit goes a long way. I'm not great at league, but I make fast friends with my teammates and I credit more wins to attitude than anything else. Bronze/Silver teams are in a perpetual state of tilt. If you're jungling and camp the same lane for 2 or 3 kills in the first 10 minutes, you've basically already won.

Going to tell you a couple of not-so-secret-secrets. First, you do not buy control wards. Do so. They help. Your vision score is bad in a lot of the games. Specifically, in the games you do really well in, you place much more wards. But even then, you never buy a control ward or destroy enemy wards. That is a problem. Denying vision is extremely powerful and being able to track enemy JGs and roams will keep you safe, keep your team safe, and secure objectives... which leads to my next thing....

Looking at your match history shows you do well KDA wise, often enough. However, your macro play is what almost all Iron-Silver players and many golds lack a lot of. Kills should translate into objectives, even small ones such as turret plates (which are easy enough) but something like deep vision in the enemy JG is worth remembering. This is how you really win a game of League of Legends. At least until they finally crush out that aspect entirely.

I mean in in bronze 1 promos arm cause in too lazy to actually do it.

But I made it there playing nothing but nami. Thus defying "lul you can climb playing enchanters" and all that.

So unless you're telling me every single game I've had so far was just luck, then its perfectly plausible.

I agree that to an extent people climb because they just better than the ELO they are in, but here is my counter

I started playing season 6 placed bronze 4 and after a sad 1000 games + I finished S5 was S3 at one point. season 7 placed B4 55 games later was S5 finished the season G1. season 8 placed S3? finished P4,

it doesn't take luck. It takes time and a constant effort to improve your individual skill. when you start to improve your skill as you climb your ELO you find you are normally one of the stronger players on your team. You don't have to be 3 tiers ahead in skill to climb. what I noticed is when you start to figure the game out and start expanding your knowledge and ability to help your team in different ways you make the players around you better. I have climbed to a higher tier every season and I didn't do it 1v9. when you forget about what your teammates are doing wrong and focus on what you can do your play will elevate. this has a long-term affect of you doing generally well in majority of your games which will lift your team up and cause more wins to come your way.

I wont lie I don't climb the latter fast, but I have always gone up and never had a major setback. for sure hardstuck at times but never letting that turn into a spiral where I lose several ranks. currently I sit gold 1 hoping to be plat by end of split and diamond by end of season. league is hard at times and it takes commitment and frustration its not for everyone but I am very competitive with myself and know I can do better you can to.

TL;DR if you commit to getting better you will climb

If you are better than your rank you will win more games. If it's slightly better it may be as small as a 51% win rate, but you will slowly climb out. Now, if you are at 51% you're going to need a metric fuckton of games, but if you improve as you play then the rate goes up and things get quicker

You're not wrong, you are 100% right.

Defenders of the garbage system will say "well DOPA climed iron to challenger in _____ games so why cant you".

The truth is, if you are a Silver-skilled player, getting out of bronze is 100% luck based. Same with silver getting to gold. You are at the mercy of the matchmaking and nothing else.
