Why is the lethality meta back?
Everyone from casual to pro thought the lethality meta we had a while ago was the worst state league has been in, so why are we bringing it back?

Because the tank meta was re-introduced to counter the lethality meta, and now the tank meta turned out to be pretty awful as well.
On a serious note, i think Riot is simply trying to give us a little variation to have something to fill in the time until they can launch the new runes and masteries. Those will be real game changers, and until they go live they're probably scared of creating new metas because even if we managed to adjust to the new meta, we would have to adjust once again when our runes are taken away and replaced.
They should just change lethality to anti tank items instead of anti squishy items. Flat damage should be the thing to kill people without armor.
Can we have a mage meta sometime? 2017 has been the Year of AD one way or another.
Because every time Riot buffs or changes lethality, they introduce some new utility to the item that gets hilariously abused.
99% slow is a big example of this. Even ADCs, who are supposed to be worse with it since Lethality scales with your level are using it. It's getting (or got hotfixed) nerfed to make the slow melee only though.
