Permanent removal of the surrender system

League of Legends Match History

Now I realize that this will be disregarded by most because of 2 reasons. 1. Because I was playing Teemo in this game (people think he's Satan, we get it, but focus on the point of this) 2. Because people believe the surrender option is a great feature in the game so that when things aren't going their way, they can just end the game at 20 mins, ruining the winning team's fun, and giving the losing team their instant gratification of going onto the next game in their all day marathon that would be hindered by playing in a losing game (god forbid they learn from their mistakes).

To the point, the link I've posted doesn't do justice to the exact circumstances of this game, we were winning.... and DESTROYING them in fact, I was trying to make the last push by myself, and I say by myself not because I had best KDA, but because my entire team had made a sport of following me around and doing nothing but taking farm (I didn't need it, I was full build for QUITE a while already, they just wanted to deny me any gold they could), and in the process, anytime we ran into enemy team resistance, they would get just close enough so that the team could engage on us, so they could try and feed me to the enemy team. Their comments throughout the WHOLE game were something to the tune of: "This teemo needs to die" "Just get one kill on teemo and we'll end" "teemo's in top brush come kill him" "teemo's at your blue, come get him". This SHIT went on for the last 10 mins of the game after I was far into full build. I managed to chunk down all three inhib turrets, and the inhibs as well. Here I am thinking that all I have to do is get with the double super minion waves and push into and take their Nexus (both Nexus turrets had been down from earlier team fight). And as the second wave of double supers were pushing into their base, I was slightly behind them, and MY team starts the surrender, and of course I clicked decline, and 3 out of the other 4 clicked yes, and as I got into the base, and started running to Nexus (I knew what they were doing), whoever the final one was clicked yes, which as you all know, means that even if I had downed the Nexus in the lagtime between final count and defeat, we still would have lost.

This was just a normal game, and while I know you elitest are gonna come in here tell me to get over it cause it wasn't ranked, but that is besides the point, it is shit like this, the majority (who more than likely were queued together) being able to control whatever they want in games just because they have the numbers. I personally never surrender, I believe that if our team is losing, we need to either make correction and try to come back, or learn from the experience and make sure I/We/They/etc. don't make those mistakes again. As conclusion, you want a new mechanic to balance this game?

TAKE OUT SURRENDERING.

This is literally the stupidest post ever. You just want it removed because you don't care how the other people feel. You'd rather have them waste their time and not have fun and stay in a game they are obviously gonna lose, then go into their next games and possibly win some. Who cares if it was normals, a lot of people only play normals and would like to win but if you're losing, oh hey! there's a surrender option so you don't gotta waste your time on fuckwads and go on with your day.

I have one simple reason to allow surrender. When the enemy team camps at your fountain disregarding the nexus just to kill whoever comes out. It isn't fun at that point, it is rude and unsportsmanlike. Yes, "you deserved it for playing so poorly and sucking so badly". BS, it is there for a reason. That singular reason alone makes it necessary. Your team did a shitty thing, but it must be left for when people simply feel they are done and don't want to continue in that game. Report the other players for surrendering how they did, and yes they should be dealt with. This has also happened in ranked. It is a way of showing, we could have won, but just chose not to. It must be left in though.

ruining the winning team's fun

I stopped reading here. The losing team is composed of human beings who might be frustrated that you're not trying to push and just farming them under turret for kills.

I can't stand players like this. Go play bot games if you just want to kill things endlessly.

I'll say this right now. I hate to surrender. 10 kills down at 20 minutes? Hell no, that's recoverable. Our Nexus turrets are under attack and we're aced? Still no, they earned their win, so let them have the satisfaction of completion.

I don't like giving up even when far behind. If you refuse to play from behind, it's a waste of practice. Playing a losing game also doesn't necessarily mean the game isn't fun.

Removing the ability to surrender? Nope. No agreement here. While I personally don't like to do it, if my entire team wants to give up, they should definitely be allowed to outvote me.

There are legitimate times to surrender, if an entire team was genuinely losing to just you, that time was twenty minutes ago for the enemy.

However, your post reeks of an almost sick glee of beating people clearly weaker than you and just never letting go, infinitely comparing yourself to anyone doing even a bit worse than you. ...they can just end the game at 20 mins, ruining the winning team's fun... ...DESTROYING them in fact, I was trying to make the last push by myself... ... not because I had best KDA, but because my entire team had made a sport of following me around and doing nothing but taking farm...(Sivir had more champ damage than you, and when 2 carries are that fed it's actually hard for a third to find the gold to keep up, but TF wasn't slouching) ...so they could try and feed me to the enemy team...

as you were DESTROYING them, did you even notice their support pantheon, already a suspect pick, was AFK?

Even when "you" chunked down the turrets(which is highly suspect as your team was clearly there because they have have half the credit and your build sucks for structure killing), is it possible you were raging hard at TF for feeding cassiopeia while claiming to be carrying, and your teammates said, "screw this guy, it's a normal so no LP loss let's not let him win?"

Because I'd have said yes too.

PS: ... I was full build for QUITE a while already... Upgrade your damn trinket and drop more than 6 wards in a 45 minute game, Bronzie.

Congratulations! You have won the dumbest post of the month reward. Please report to your local mental facility for your reward.

The surrender timer i feel should be lowered to like 15 minutes - because there are quite a bit of games which are not fun and i just want to move on and do something else; i dont want to sit in a lost game for any longer to be in fking hell

Uh, no. Since four people need to vote yes to surrender, it's very very very fair. If you can't deal with that, maybe you shouldn't be playing pvp and should stick to pve games where you don't have to interact with other people and interfere with their fun or force unfun on them.

You are joking right? or just stupid?

... even if we would remove to surrender, that doesn't stop people from staying in base and letting the enemy push so that the game ends faster.

That one game is nonrepresentative of games as a whole. Your sample size is 1. I can think of at least 10 games that I wanted to surrender because they stopped being fun.

BakedLotion5/13/2015, 3:26:17 AM1 votes

I was in a normal game once, and the other team was like 32 kills ahead of us with all but our nexus destroyed, and they fountain dived us just to troll. Then, we said gg ff now in all chat (jokingly) and they actually surrendered LMAO. They werent a premade 5 either, and it was 5/0 surrender vote

blkh15/13/2015, 5:00:56 AM1 votes

This is poetic. He is in the midst of a losing battle. All the turrets are down, the inhibs are smashed, the nexus exposed. We are just simply waiting for him to come out again so we can go at him. He could surrender (delete the post) or he could just take the beating until we decide enough is enough. I know which it will be. He will think himself stronger because of it. But is he?

Koreans would hate this since most of them play in internet cafes so time played is money spent...they don't want to pay to play a losing game, instead they opt out and surrender @ 20 and start a fresh game...thats why koreans are so aggressive and better @ league...they play to win @ 20 and get to the next game...

zane yalgir5/13/2015, 6:27:32 AM1 votes
