Has anyone played hybrid Malz? It seems he's pretty lackluster when going full AP.
Going hybrid though, what if your core items were Black Cleaver, Morellonomicon, and Rylai's? I didn't think about it until I tried it but those voidling spawns will stack black cleaver really quick. Having Rylai's gives better chasing/sticking power. Morello just gives you the AP, cdr, and mana.
Thoughts on usefulness?

Zz'Rot for nice mixed defense stats since it gets you +55 to both Armor and Magic Resist. Plus it lets you use the HP you get from and to help you push a lane with or without you, or to prevent a slow push to your towers.
Still trying to figure some things out honestly. Like what skills to max in what order. Malefic Vision though is always good to put points into though. I debate with myself between maxing Call of the Void or Void Swarm first. Due to the hybrid aspect putting more points into Void Swarm lets the AD I invest into do some work with them. Though with Call of the Void I can silence people longer and keep Malefic Vision up on a target for much longer.

Void Nargacuga1 votesThank you. Personally I like the idea of grabbing second. Even more lane sustain besides the mana pool increase from which when combined with Malefic Visions kill passive (if its on a target that is) lets him restore 2% of his's maximum mana. And even the Omnivamp passive of Gunblade works off the damage dealt by his Voidlings! Getting scary yet? After that though... I kinda falter in what to build. Maybe I should buy the as my third item since the Voidlings still deal a nice amount of Magic Damage as well.
This is just my opinion here though: Flat penetration is nice if your opponents don't build lots of MR, and honestly Malz is still one of the top tank melters who deal magic damage due to how his kit works. Building the ensures he deals damage to lots of enemies, sure he won't insta gib squishes, but man will they regret going into a 1v1 with you nonetheless.
