Inhibitor Turret OR Dragon?

In game sometimes you have to decide between taking the inhibitor turret or taking dragon. What would you take and why?

What dragon #? That's really the clutch part of the question. How many dragons does the other team have? Normally by that point in time, you might be getting up around 3rd or 4th dragon.

However, in general, the dragon is sort of trashy now.
