Team bonuses for respecting the lore!

At the moment, there seems to be very little in common between the game and the lore, so I've been thinking of ways to better integrate the two together, and I came up with an idea.

How about if teams got a certain bonus if all of their players control champions who come from the same area? So for example, if all champions on your team come from Ionia, they all get +5% cooldown reduction. And if they all come from the Void, they all get +3% attack speed?

As well as making things fluffy, it would introduce a new layer of strategy: do you opt for extra power by restricting your team's choice of champions, or flexibility in choice at the cost of the bonus?

That would completely invalidate some regions. Bandle City has no jungler AND if Lulu gets banned they have no support as well. The Void has no support. Mount Targon doesn't have an ADC. If Braum gets banned, Freljord has no support. Shurima has no support. If Thresh gets banned, the Shadow Isles have no support. Noxus has no jungler. And what about champions that don't belong to a single region like Evelynn, Ryze, Kindred and Bard?

I feel like that would make for a lot of arguing in champ select as people might want a group bonus (or even be counting on it), while others want to play the specific champ they like or are good at, and it would not be a good time.

Also seems like it'd be super delicate balance wise. If champs are all individually balanced on their own, then they're going to be slightly OP given an added boost. If they're all balanced assuming a lore boost as you propose, then they'll all be slightly weak when played individually.

As a fellow lover of the lore I have to say this is a horrific idea. Team comp is something that is very important in League and this idea is only putting limitations on it.

Although this was almost impossible to balance, I like the idea as such. I often lie awake at night and dream of a glorious All-Freljordian team. Winter is coming...
