There's hardly any counter. She's not AA cause P. She can get black cleaver at 5 minutes with klepto. Her passive is pointless to try and counter

Sujiren1 votesEh, your best bet vs Ilaoi is playing ranged, uninteractive laning phase type of champion. Kayle is a good example, just sit back , dodge her skillshots, and clear minion waves. You can chunk her hard if she misses Q+E, and your ult counters her ult . In worst case scenario just focus on going even, since you hard outscale her.
Yorick is also very soilid into her, since Ilaoi has no way to escape the box, and he can sustain her poke and harass from range with ghouls, plus his all in with maiden is really strong, so at 6 if she fucks up her E,you can probably all in with ult. Otherwise, although seems like a stupid advice, try to make it into 35+ minutes vs Ilaoi, assuming you are not running a teamcomp of 5 squishies, she really starts falling off, because she either too squishy and gets blown up, or doesn't do enough damage, and she offers no cc at all. All in all, I agree with your point, her laning phase is pure cancer to deal with, especially for melee champions. A lot of it comes from the fact that almost no melees, have the luxury to destroy her tentacles safely. Every time you go for a tentacle kill, you risk of getting punished by E, or Q. And since the cooldown is like only 15 seconds or so to spawn a new one there is not enough room to really punish her.
