Wtf is Riots mind set exactly. The whole point of conqueror was for bruisers/fighters/juggernauts to have a better chance against tanks. But this current re-iteration is just gonna be abused my mages and ranged toplaners. Thats not who this rune is aimed for.

Im someone who loves playing aggressive bruisers/juggernauts and vanguards, we are literally gonna be thrown in the shitter with this new rune. Wtf am I supposed to take? Your pinholing me into taking Grasp on everything I play.

Edit: I am fine with the new conqueror but it needs more ranged limitations, mages and most ranged fighters are just going to abuse it

all bruisers do immense anti-tank damage regardless after cleaver

Except the current one is also extremely unbalanced and offers little counterplay. Stack it up on minions then fight your lane opponent with bonus true damage to all of your damage is nuts and is absolutely insane on the champions who make the best use out of it, such as Yasuo, Jax and Darius.

Whilst I 100% believe this is a much more balanced keystone for fighters I wholeheartedly agree that it needs more detriments for ranged champions. Cassiopeia and Draven are the ones I'm currently most scared of.

It's not going to be as bad as you're imagining. Basically only Cassio and Ryze will be able to actually "abuse" this and both were champions who don't have any ideal keystone so this is cool.

I feel for you. I remember when they removed fervor and bruisers were obsolete. They gave bruisers conq, and stated its a bruiser rune to bring that role back into the game. The changes are like a stab in the back. Top lane is going to be viktor/gnar/jayce, and probably a lot of troll picks like quinn/vayne/lissandra.

Conquerer was problematic because it was being abused by champs like darius to destroy tanks in the late game, while also being unbelievably oppressive in the early game. The existence of this rune was incredibly stupid to begin with, it invalidated tanks so hard its not even funny. ATM, there are 0 tanks in the top 10 most picked champions in top lane. The closest one that has come to being in the top 10 is sion, ranked at 13, who recently received nerfs for being overtuned. THAT, is the state tanks are in right now.

I'm sorry your class no longer gets to invalidate a tank by picking a single rune, but that should never have been the case to begin with.

The rune changes will make 0 difference to how bruisers deal with the top most played champs in top lane atm, jayce, vlad urgot and irelia. Since none of these are tanks. Your champions will not be shit tier.

Sorry you feel entitled when melee has such a broad set of opportunities that are NOT Juggernauts/tanks who are the actual rune users.

Yes better "chance" to deal with tanks... not completely fucking destroy tanks by ignoring armor. Imagine getting a free rune that is 5 times as powerful as item 3035. No wonder tanks are not viable in soloq.

Lets compare conqueror to some other runes:

  • PTA: No restriction on melee and the damage is ADAPTIVE. 6 second CD

  • Fleet Footwork: Scales equally well between AD (30% bonus AD) and AP (30% AP) and has a restriction ranged champions. Energized Cooldown

  • Lethal Tempo: Can be used by anybody who needs attackspeed. 6 second cooldown.

  • Arcane Comet: Adaptive dmg, actually has better scaling on AD than AP (35% bonus AD vs 20% AP) 20-8 sec cooldown.

Old Conqueror:

  • refresh mechanic limited to melee champions
  • Only grants bonus AD, NOT ADAPTIVE
  • 20% true damage conversion from last hitting minions (rip armor).
  • 0 cooldown after losing stacks
