Rioters comment?
Will someone please tell me, why at lvl 6, a volibear can out-damage a renekton, when renekton has damage built and volibear has nothing but boots and armor. ? its so sad

mostly the hp % from volibears W(?) that chunks you, plus his passive to regen HP, and his ult for more mix damage.
To add to this, if your renekton who has only damage, that means you have no armor, mr, or hp, while volibear does.
a good defense, is a good offense.
are great examples of this.
Amour scaling > Damage scaling early game
Renekton is also a trading power-house while Volibear's kit is built entirely around sustained fights
