Thoughts on a Caitlyn nerf (or is it..?)
So recently I realized just how the meta works. Basically, in the whole pool of League champs, certain ones get their "time to shine" during specific time periods. Could be just a patch (i.e. Sejuani/Maokai reworks got emergency hotfixes or whatever), could be longer. Of course, this "meta" status also depends on other factors such as op items, jg changes or general gameplay changes (like changes to turrets, minions, etc.). With that being said, in pro-play and casual, Caitlyn has been meta for a good while now, and seeing her Runnan's build get nerfed, to me, was a hint at her maybe getting thrown out of the meta slowly. I just wanted to add to that. I think a good next step would be nerfing her headshot damage. Nerf the % damage (i think its scales with points in her w and with levels in her passive, as well as with crit items) scaling and add a "Headhunter" stacking passive to her w and/or passive. Every time she gets a kill with a headshot, she gains a certain amount of damage to headshots thereafter. I think this will reward players for making those fancy plays involving the brush and/or traps and net combos, essentially increasing the skillcap of the champ and making it harder to deal burst since she already has dps with her range. Just a thought!
