why did they remove karma's shield bomb?

The patch I'm not sure about. I want to say early season 5?
As for why, Riot wanted to emphasize the power of Karma's ultimate so they buffed her ability to actively lower its cooldown, then changed her three abilities to be damage, healing/cc, and utility/mobility, so each ult had a clear use case instead of just "which one does the most damage?"
2-3 years ago. Because it made the spell into something that didn't really have a purpose, you just cast it and everything in the area just shifts to be better for your team. Also it made her optimal play pattern into something like an annie where you flash in and spam all your spells and the opponent either dies or you get killed once your burst is out.
Early last season.
Why, not sure, shield bombing was the most iconic thing about her and the last remnant of her pre-rework self.
