What are some good top laners that have 'staying power'?

What I mean is someone who can stay in a fight for a long time, kinda like a tank top laner likeOrnn or someone who can be built that way by using items, likePoppy .It doesn't have to be someone like those two though.Just anyone that can sustain a lot of damage or can stay in the back and contribute to the fight from a distance like Gnar .I just don't want someone that has a risky play style and is squishy,Riven is and example of who I don't want to play as.

Poppy has horrible staying power. She's very mana relient and has no health recovery built into her kit at all. She is good at defending from tower dives so she feels like she has a lot of prowess to stick around, but she is very easy to wittle down because of her bad trading power and bottom-of-the-barrel base defenses.

I'd reccomend Malphite. His passive shield comes back up after just standing back for a few seconds, and stays up indefinitely until broken, all while buffing his defense until it falls off. other good picks are Maokai Gragas for their healing passives, Nunu to feed off minions,Nasus's lifesteal, Sion Chogath get health from killing minions, and for more damage oriented choices, Illaoi Darius have absurd trading and sustain with their Q's each sapping health, Olaf Warwick get stronger on low health with ways to keep topped off easily as well, and Mordekaiser with item 3146 + tank items takes huge chunks off his opponent while constantly building a shield and regaining health between his W and revolver.

A few suggestions.

Potentially Nasus since he has passive lfiesteal. But then you'd have to worry about...well, pretty much everything, since you're playing as Nasus.

Kled can be hilarious, since even though he gets low, smart and idiotically aggressive attacking can get you backthat missing health. But you'd have to keep in mind that you're a diver, not a tank.

Garen and Mundo have great HP regen, and both don't use mana. That's all I can say for tht.

Maokai is a tank, AND he has self-healing. I don't play him though, so I don't know how you can work with that.

Malphite and Galio both offer shields that are good against AD and AP respectively, and they grow back out of combat. Good for counter picks.

Lemme give you a little secret.

Shotgun Knees

Urgot will be your new friend.

You can be wrecked in lane but as long as you farm you will be good. You will have high health but still do massive damage. You have a shield on your W giving you outplay potential and put a trade in your favor. Your ult lets you shred a tank or take down a priority target. Easy farm early good poke. Use Fleet Footwork as it gives good sustain and damage. Trust me here, he's an amazing tank carry.

Grasp Nasus is really a great pick with staying power, as long as you play safe earlygame and manage waves properly, you'll become unmovable while not even trying to trade the opponent, only all inning when you figure you have enough stacks for it (and your opponent made a mistake like burning his escape)

Anything that's not a bruiser then

Mordekaiser has amazing sustain if played correctly

Shen

Solid single target damage, builds nearly full tank, great tanking steroids with passive and W, builds warmogs so he can leave a skirmish and heal to full in seconds, etc. Triumph is a must on him.

Renekton and Garen have great sustain and both bullies.

One of my personal favorite, more interesting top lane picks is Fiora. You may be thinking, "but brutalitops, she doesn't have staying power!" Well, that's where you're wrong, my friend. Get Revitalize and build a Spirit Visage on her and pop that ult on someone, anyone, as fast as possible. You'll become basically unkillable with all your lifesteal.

I think Darius is fairly safe.

If you know your match-ups, you can win/survive all match ups so long as you play safe around potential enemy Ganks.

You're never in an outright feed lane. You can always go even in the worst case, just have to be safe. The threat of your damage means most enemies can't really all in you if you don't mess up.

I think Teemo might work for what ur thinking about. You can play team fights from the backline and hit the enemy tanks and fight assassins and divers with your other backliners, or you stealth and flank to take one of their carries out of the fight then reposition. Can carry a teamfight if you can stay alive.
