How do I rank up as supp main?

Alright, I started playing League in early season 5 after playing with crazy russians in Dota 2. Great game overall. Community could've been better, but let's not discuss that. (btw, this is my smurf acc)

When I started playing League, I mained support since I felt I was terrible at fighting, and that the role fit me the most. I had general experience with skillshots and aiming, so I turned out to be a natural with it here. I mained Soraka and Sona ( got them in lvl 5 too), and I think I play that role very well. Right now, I've tried to play Nidalee and LeeSin to master another lane than bot, and I might take them to ranked one day. If I git gud.

I ended up in bronze 2 with 4w and 6l. I believe the reason I lost so many matches was mainly because my team hated me (the other reason was because my team forced me to play a champ I've never played before. Other is maybe that I suck, I dunno). It was my fault if they dived into the turret for kills and then died, it was my fault if I didn't notice a skillshot travelling through unwarded area, it was my fault if they missed a cs, and it was my fault the team lost. And some morons even flamed me for "not warding" when I ward the important places all the time. I did my job, but my adc and the rest of the team uses me as a punching bag when they can't blame themselves.

I'm starting to hate to play support since I get most of the blame, I don't get credit for shit, I can't do anything if my team feeds, and losing the games doesn't really make things any better. After getting bronze 2, I tried to rank up several times, but I lose then win and repeat. I can't win as support. What am I supposed to do?

I got 45 LP after playing Caitlyn andJinx since I was pretty experienced with them and managed to carry both of the games. Which made me realize I might have to switch to adc to actually win a match since I'm pretty good with them. Frankly, I'm scared to try to play ranked again, because I fear I will lose my points if I play supp. I am tired of not being capable of doing anything when my team is behind, so is switching main role a good idea?

The reason I'm stuttering at maining adc is because I might end up with a bad supp ... Sounds weird I know right. But when I see bad supports, I tend to play worse. One ranked game I had before s6, I played Jinx and had Lux with me. She didn't respond to me when I asked her to get sightstone or pink wards since the enemy Ekko ganked us often. She instead build AP. with not one supp item. Not one! And she was terrible at skillshots, never activated her E, or her W. She didn't poke the enemy either who got Draven and Soraka (who was actually pretty bad at playing. Almost never hit a skillshot. But they had a really good Ekko to save them). So we lost that game. This was the worst scenario when I picked adc instead of supp, since I noticed the things the supp didn't do to help the team. And it is not the first time either! And no, I don't flame my support, I try to be nice to them all the time since that's how I want to be treated when I am support.

So I'll sum this up for you:

  • I lose ranked games because I main support
  • I consider switching main role
  • Don't know what to do when my support plays poorly if I play adc
  • Is there a way I can change this if I stay a support main?

I will appreciate any form for advise.

Ignore them. Counter-picking or making a comp with something you don't know is throwing the game in champion select. Just tell them you don't know how to play it and pick what you're best at.

My advice for climbing as a support is to limit your champion pool to only a few. It's much better to master a few of your favorites than it is to keep swapping into things you aren't experienced with. If you want to try out a variety, do so in Normals until you're good at it.

Lower elo, playing support sucks. People pass blame around too much. Climb out to at least mid silver, then support more. Lower Elo, solo lanes are rather easy to carry with in my experience. Tryndamere can split push all day and they don't know how to punish it for example. Or an out of control assassin as teamfights are really disoriented. Ekko that was doing well in your example is perfect example of what I am saying. Anything with massive snowball can get you out.

Once you are out: Forget what your team asks for if you aren't comfortable with it. Lack of skill on something is a heavy handicap. Also, stick to 4-5 champs per role.

My favorite supports are Blitzcrank Nami Morgana Bard Nautilus . I can play Braum Thresh Zilean Zyra too but I know my main roster covers basically any matchup. Morg counters hooks and Leo, Nami is my blind pick, Blitz is my anti sona/soraka, Naut is my choice if I have a level two all in adc, and bard is if they have a lot of tanks. Being able to navigate my team through objectives and effectively shut down the front line through the ult can kill off the damage only leaving us to murder tanky champs. Thats just me personally.

As for your second role, that is your call. I go top. Vladimir Malphite Gangplank Nasus as I like sustain in my top laners mostly. Malphite is just there because he can crap on this AD meta like nobodys business.

Play a support that can damage carry if need be (so like Brand or Vel'koz), or a support that can force kills down your carry's throat (Nautilus or Blitzcrank). That should work I'd imagine. Friend of mine climbed to gold with mostly Nautilus support.
