I don't get it. I know it's a measly three lp and I can understand the wait time but why do you lose any lp for leaving champ select. Can someone explain this to me because I don't know why you're punished for leaving when you didn't want that aatrox "main" to play support when he's already called half your team faggots that should get cancer and die. And if it's to punish trolls then I don't think a troll will care if he loses Lp. Can someone explain this to me.
Feygan2 votesI'm fairly certain it's to discourage any dodges for not getting the position that the person wants. Back in my day, there was no penalty besides the wait time. People would literally dodge just because they didn't get to go mid, they didn't like the bans, because the enemy team picked a counter to them.. basically, they would leave whenever the game was not one hundred percent optimal for THEM.
Riot decided to add the small lp loss to curb those few people that would dodge for such reasons, as people are more likely to stick around now and play the game even if they didn't end up in a completely ideal situation. The lp loss is very low, as not to punish people who are escaping a toxic situation, similar to the one you described. (Though unfortunately, if you dodge in a series, it counts as a loss. That one I don't understand. :p )
