Why does Luden's echo apply spell effects

It's so frustrating having Nidalee with rylai's get an AoE slow with her spear, same goes for Elise with her human Q, etc. If chilling smite's spell effects got removed becuase it abused runic echoes, can the same thing please happen to runic/luden's echo also?

The real problem was actually how easy it would have been to proc Runic Echoes with just an instant point-and-click Smite. Now, in theory, you have to land a spell or get at least closer to your opponent to use them.

From what I understand, you dislike only the interaction between Luden's and Rylai's, not spell effects in general. Rylai's is currently overturned, and I think its slow will actually be one of the first targets they nerf.

I don't think removing Luden's Spell effects would be a good choice, because it actually removes some cool interactions (Liandry's Torment, Deathfire Touch keystone, Athene's and maybe some Akali/Morgana players like this item).
