The Cassiopeia problem

  1. Still needs 500 stacks to hit lategame power, despite games being slightly shorter
  2. Can no longer Hyper Carry due to AP items nerf (pricing)
  3. Unlike ADC's who only need 4 weapons+ boots completed, she needs all 6 of her items to truly start carrying.
  4. And even then she is still outscaled by every other ADC

She is free to play this week, and I think I know the reason. Riot, you guys need more data on where she stands right?

I remember after her rework she was free to play 2 weeks in a row so that Riot could gather enough data on her state of balance.

Could she get a slight/ temporary buff until her rework? Unlike other mages, she is damage oriented and doesn't bring a lot of reliable utility.

Sincerely, A Cassiopeia main

Since pre-season, she has been in a very bad spot. She has lost up to two thirds of her playerbase (down to 1% pickrate) and has remained at a 45% winrate throughout the current season.

To make matters worse, her lategame isn't even that good since she immediately drops below 50% after 40 minutes (47% in patch 6.5), so she's actually pretty awful at being a hypercarry. And that's only if she manages to stall the game that long since games tend to end after 25 minutes in this meta.

She definitely needs to see some buffs to bridge this long wait, and so far Riot hasn't taken a single step to acknowledge these issues.

I agree. I think just a small buff would suffice. Maybe a slight reduction in maximum stacks

Yep I completely agree I love playing cassio and see the exact same problems tho that's why riot said shes gunna be getting changes too along side the other mages.... tho I don't know if that will be just enough depending if they are gunna keep some of the same concepts she has right now..... I think they should remove how many stacks u need because 500 stacks.. is like 40-1 hr in the game.. and we all know games end before that ontop of the enemy will be at there lategame maby by 30-40 mins in depending on how all the lanes go shes really not an ap hypercarry mage the damage isn't there if u where to say compare it with a literal ad hypercarry like kogmaw even tho its just basic attacks he will still almost delete ur entire team lategame

550k+ main here.

Firstly I dont think she should be reworked because she is fine the way she is, I don't want her getting destroyed.

  1. Agree make it stack about 10% faster
  2. I think she can still carry pretty well
  3. Still very strong though even if she only has one item
  4. This is not really true imo she can kill any adc but it comes down to skill/positioning and whoever gets hit first often loses the fight (in late game) I think I have most success with Cassio in bot lane and feel she is a good counter to adc

When mana pots were removed they buffed many mana champs but left Cassiopeia untouched therefroe she was nerfed. I think she deserves some mana buffs just like the others and would suggest her starting with 20 extra mana and gain 5 extra mana every level she would end with 105 extra mana level 18 plus the 10% faster passive stacking would make her come out balanced imo.

Incoming cassiopeia rework:

Her AAs are her twin fangs

Her E is now a new poison skill

Every time one of her abilities apply poison it gains stacks unique to that skill and each skill unlocks something at 50/100/150 stacks

Cassi's ulti unlocks new power every time you finish stacking out an ability

  1. I believe she's part of the mage rework.
  2. Like EMEX said, she's not in a terrible place. The machine gun mechanic isn't that bad. The counter to that just seems to be that it's not the same way she played before, which isn't a good argument.

The problem is that a team needs to build around Cass carrying. Like Malz, Cass get's abused by champs that can get on top of her. This makes her a weak soloq pick (except in very niche circumstances), which is really the crux of the problem.

um i played a cass game the other day and it was incredibly fun and i was able to carry very easily

She saw some occasional pro play in the LCS and carried a couple games, simply throwing a buff her way when she clearly is on the cusp of being very strong is pretty dangerous.

I find she's fine on ARAM, thought that may be due to being able to easily stack your poison on so many people.

I actually kinda like her, just got her yesterday because I finally realized how she works and it worked out great. I only play ARAM though, no idea how she is on the rift. She probably does need some touching up.
