And I agree with this. She's by far the most item dependent mage I've ever played. And not because she lacks damage, it's because she is so damn dependent on the extra utility.. slow, extra movement speed, mana, % hp burn, void staff.. she needs it all badly

NOTE : Video looks pretty bad.The E is bugged. It's supposed to be at 1sec CD and can be spammed without poison, but deals increased damage to poisoned targets.

I don't know how all of this will pan out but I'm HYPED AS HELL.

As a Cass main, I feel that EVERYTHING is in the right direction. Literally everything !! And thank you so much RiotRepertoir for removing that godawful Aspect of the Serpent.

... yes it's gone, since we no longer need. It has a permanent 1s CD now.

That's so sad about the twinfang. But without boots I don't know where to get armor from anymore since I buy Ninja Tabis to counter ad champs.

I hope they won't kill her and that she will still be fun to play.

Probably, questions is if I would put myself at a disadvantage for buying an item without any ap. But it sounds like Cassio will be a insane hyper carry in very late game when the need for boots falls away.

item 3157 ? Though I admit armor/ap options are lacking. Maybe ap/hp items might help, or more defenses in your runepage?

I already play Cassio with tank runes xD Most people play her more or less glass cannon, but I believe she does better with some defense, she is a dps mage so some survivability increases her damage imo. In late game I have over 100 armor and quite a bit or mr plus often I buy 2 or 3 health items which give me a lot of extra health. Hourglass, I think is not the best item on her and I rarely build it anymore since the price increase. If enemy is full ad it's still my go to item.

the free slot could be used for zhonya in the future then, it allows you to not give up any ap while still getting more defense than item 3047 would give you. You can just get item 3191 early.

The PBE is not set in stone... Her E is glitched, it is meant to have a static 1 second CD. The changes should make her very powerful.

As someone who really wants to main Cass, I'm super hyped for these changes! I just don't like the name of her passive. Reminds me of that kind of crappy horror movie.

Can boots be changed to a strictly cosmetic item? Like, you can still buy them but they provide no actual positive attributes, you just wear them on your head.

Hum... That would be 830 of AP without runes, masteries, Drake and Nashor. We can count on at least 900 AP, but since she will have low movement speed early game, I think you should use the Luden instead of the Liandry.

She's actually not that slow early game. You get 5 MS a level and start at 335 (and get a huge steroid on Q) so you catch up to brown boots at level 5.

I'd swap the Liandry's for an AA staff imo. Your sustained damage alone shreds tanks so getting more is overkill considering AA gives Cass around 200+ AP and a big af shield. Luden's is also nice for the MS, but she doesn't really need MS in combat (you move at around 500 after Q).

the first sentence is the dumbest. thing I heard all year. what? item dependant? why aren't other mages item dependant? what does that even mean? everyone can use more item and is better with more items. i think that will just put her over the top. 1k ap late game. why not. it used to be just veigar but i guess now she will too on standard bases.

She already could hit well over 1000 AP on live with her terrible passive on live. If anything this change makes her tankier due to having more freedom in build.

Why is that dumb? The current Cass is indeed more item dependent than other champs for more than one reason.
Don't know about the updated Cass.

For one her passive is only useful if you have a decent amount of ap, many champs have passives that are not item dependent. Secondly without extra mana she isn't very useful and sometimes runs out before she can kill you, meaning she needs mana more than most burst mages. Thirdly because she has no dashes, items that give you speed boost are arguable more important for immobile mages, it increases their chase and escape potential to a greater degree than for mobile champions. And because she is a DPS mage she needs to stick to you for a longer duration unlike burst mages, that's why Rylais is successful on her.

However since you will always have gold enough to buy at least some items I am not sure if his statement that Cassio is so item depend is actually accurate, since she can do well with just a RoA for example.

Riot, are you considering updating her model a little bit? Nothing serious . . . but her hands are WAY to large.

I hope they remove her E's ability to heal off of minions before releasing her into the game. I can understand its use in trading off with champions, but using it on minions will give her unholy sustain since if she last hits, it doesn't even cost her mana.
