Assassin rework and Camille

I'm gonna start by saying I stopped playing before the assassin rework, and I just came back two days ago.

I thought the assassin rework was going to take place because of the lack of counter play. That by itself seems like a valid reason, but I just experienced Camille's ult, and it seems to go against this design philosophy. There aren't any counter play options for Camille's ult unless it's built into the champion's kit (tristana R).

To clarify, what I'm confused about is: Riot's philosiphy of "We don't like situations where counter play doesn't exist" and Camille's ult where counter play doesn't exist.

Am I missing something or did Riot flip flop a bit?

Camille isn't an Assassin. Shes a Diving Fighter.

That's not what I mean. What i'm comparing is "We don't like situations where counter play doesn't exist" and Camille's ult where counter play doesn't exist.

There's plenty of counter play. If there's a champ that has a knock up/ displacement ability her ult instantly ends cause she's no longer in it. Plus it may knock enemies away initially but they can still reenter it and help their teammate even if that one cannot escape.

That's not counter play so much as it is team play. With almost every other ability there are resources that the target can expend to get out of the situation.

Naut ult - you have time to create distance after the ability has been cast bard ult - you have time to get out of the aoe irelia stun - you have the HP mechanic to play around, qss etc etc.

Or you just walk back into her damn ult cage and harass Camille away before she can kill your carry which takes like 2-3 seconds.

What are you supposed to do if you ARE the carry? You can't do anything to get out of it unless it's a part of the champion's kit. There are no summoners you can take or items you can buy to outplay or lessen the effects of her ultimate.

Pray for your team to peel. It should be second nature to a carry in every situation.

"Pray for your team to help you" is not counterplay. That's what i'm trying to discuss. This wasn't meant as a "QQ get rid of Camille", it was meant as a discussion on whether or not Camille's ult was in line with Riot's "counter play is necessary" design.

Dodge the targeted ult? That's what he is complaining about which he is right unless you come into the game with a counter you can't do anything about it alone unless you outstat her.

Um no, dodge her E and W. And you shouldn't be alone in the first place as a squishy carry. If you are, you're an idiot and deserve to die for being caught out.
