Fizz becomes untargetable when he jumps with e. Jax does not.

If Fizz Q's through then he'd get stunned.

Fizz is untargetable during E, so he cannot get stun. Jax is.

Think about it like this. Terrain is not coded in the way you would think it would be IRL, that's why champs like Renekton Ahri Tryndamere ( random champs ) can literally dash through what amounts to a large mountain ( walls ), while some can also jump over it like Jax and Tristana. Veigar's event horizon is not coded the same way, it CC's any champion that goes over or through it, in the same manner Azir ult does just without the knockback.

Fizz has a built in stasis to his E. During stasis, one of the benefits is you cannot be CCed. Therefore, since he can still move/dash while his E is active, he gets through the wall.

Also, saying that " Jax jumps over it " doesn't make sense, you don't know exactly how tall veigar E is or how high jax can jump, what you see from your PoV is not always the exact coding.

Welcome to Riot and their coding. Jumps show visually going up but the code is just moving you in a straight line. Everyone else has pointed out that Fizz is not counted as being there during his E so it works more like a blink (Flash etc) and not a dash.
