PSA: If you see your bot lane getting 4-man ganked...

TyrekGoldenspear··23 votes·2,792 views

Be a pal and go down there and even the odds.

There is no way they can kill the tower before you get there. (Insert Ziggs joke here)

Your bot lane will feel safer when they know that their teammates have their back, and we will all feel safer when the enemy doesn't get tower first blood.

Gotta move fast though, all too often they come after bot lane is dead and simply feed the enemy another kill

This. Coming too late is often worse than not coming at all.

If you're not joining, at least hardpush your wave into turret. Freezing or slowly ambling down after it's all over is a complete waste. I don't care if we get ganked, but at least take advantage of the opprotunity that's been gifted to you. I hate seeing a midlaner freezing while their mid laner is camping us. At least punish them for the time investment by pressuring another objective.

If we get 5-manned in bot lane, but mid and top get their towers each to half-health, I don't even mind that much. If one of them can finish their tower off, that's even better.

The trick to bot lane ganks is reacting according to WHEN they are happening, not after. As a mid laner or a jungler, when you see your bot getting gang banged, you should already be close in the vicinity or you already screwed up. Just running down there while it's happening from either mid or your raptor camp means you already failed and should just keep doing what you're doing.

Also, as a bot laner, you shouldn't just expect your mid laner to follow his laner, nor a jungler, sometimes you should just back off for the team. I've been smurfing in Silver lately learning Azir and the amount of rage I get for not following my laner pre 6 is absurd. I am Azir, usually facing a zed, Ahri, or Leblanc, under no circumstance would my roam help you in anyway. The only thing roaming for me would do is delay my powerspike even more and possibly end up getting me killed when my laner turns on me in the jungle or forces me to back.

TyrekGoldenspear2 votes

You are definitely correct.

This is why as a mid laner that is squish I would go bot through my team's jungle, if my jungler is nearby we can go together. Top can always TP in to even the odds.

But yes, we should keep an eye on when they are happening and react accordingly, or else the lane is lost.

LOL please this.

Nothing is more irritating then 2v4ing and then seeing your team not even pushing mid/top.

Almost every time, the ally team dies before I get there.

For example, our bot pushes hard and the enemy malph tps bot. I'm freezing the lane to stop his cs and can't tell if he's tping or not. By the time I see his champion icon, he's already ulted and they've died.

Also love this:

Gets ganked by jg Enemy Laner shoves to our turret Enemy Laner tps bot I respawn and walk towards top Bot dies as I'm walking towards top Ping "?" Spam

"Wtf why no push lane noob"

JoeMG2 votes

You have to judge the scenario though. There's no point showing up for a losing fight. If your bot lane is getting gangbanged and your team is going to die then you're better off just pushing your lane while the enemy team is having their orgy in bot lane.

Pupel1 votes

As a top lane main I love it when bot gets gangbanged cause I go push my tower then mids tower then farm the enemy jungle and get super ahead but shhhhh don't tell them I said that.

Eedat1 votes

Bot lane is already getting 4-manned, they will be dead before your TP finishes and long before you can roam there. Showing up against 4 players just means your going to get dived for another free kill before they take the tower and drag anyway

Kitty Clarissa1 votes

4 man gangbangs can go either 1 of 2 ways. 2 kills/forced to back and a tower and dragon, or fail badly and both jungle / mid fall behind while the farming ones are getting bigger and bigger. Top laners who join in for a 5 man orgy mean shove the hell out of all the lanes.

it is a double edge sword tactic, they better get an objective off of it or else its a waste of time. The mid would have to go back to lane taking 10-15 secs , jungle would have to back and go to his jungle to farm if they fail. burning 15-30 secs. and normally the gangbangs last for about 5-30 seconds.

I actually agree with this and that's why I like Varus as a bottom lane guy. His superior range will allow him to poke gank attempts dead in their tracks. Of course I've had games where my support feeds them anyway but hey you can't win them all.

AMYS GRAVE1 votes

If you see your bot lane getting 4-man ganked... its already too late to think about joining. Either follow your laner preemptivly, invade their jungle, go push top as two man, or just push your wave.

Supreme Senpai691 votes

Better yet, when you see your enemy leave mid lane, follow them. An MIA ping is great and all but knowing it's a 3v2 doesn't change the fact that it's a 3v2. If for whatever reason you can't follow them, get your tower. But honestly, you should just follow most of the time. That 3v2 will soon be a 4v2 when the enemy jungler joins.

Partholonian2 votes

If the enemy jungler is coming and you follow the enemy mid, you're walking into a 1v2; your death in the river isn't going to help your botlane a bit.

Some matchups have excellent reasons not to want to follow into fog of war.

Supreme Senpai692 votes

Those matchups are probably immobile mages v assassins. In that case take the tower with your superior wave clearing.

BUT that's a big part of the problem Having a jungler who wants to focus top is no longer viable, except in a few rare instances Having a mid laner who can't counter push, or doesn't want because that's not how they play, is no longer viable. You could argue about playstyle and needing to adjust, but balance should be about multiple playstyles being viable. Here, the 4 man ganks and what you suggested is pretty much the only viable thing.

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

Yeah, I know. :/

Never said I liked the 4 man ganks, but I for one wanted to give us a chance to fight back.

Totally agree with you on multiple playstyles.

Hyperiön1 votes

If they are 4 manning bot and you have no control over it, instead of showing up late and dying, go take turret. Or make then regret leaving lane. There are a lot of situations you can do to capitalize on 4-5man ganks.

macromite1 votes

PSA roam times and tp times are both fcking long, chasing enemy is a mistake, instead, focus on gang banging bot first.

Erockandroll1 votes

I think a bigger problem is coordination, if the top laner coordinated his TP with a Jungler gank, TPing yourself would still leave you in a 3v4, which doesn't do that much to even the odds. Especially when the alternative is, push the top lane back, and try to exchange turrets.

Also that TP is a requirement. If my TP isn't available, matching the enemy top lane would be impossible, and the best I could do is try to interrupt, and that might not be possible depending where the enemy is TPing from.
