Azir Nerfs in 5.14- HE DOESN'T NEED THEM

I know the post is long. Before you vote down or up, I encourage you to read the post thoroughly to understand its material. Please do not judge the title.

I am an Azir main. I have about 500 ranked games on Azir, and as such, I consider myself an accomplished player with this champion, fully knowing his ins and outs. You can validate this here: http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=Entropic+Mirage

When I heard about the incoming Azir nerfs, I was incredibly shocked.** He doesn't need them! **I will explain the changes to Azir and why they are unnecessary.

Passive attack speed on W ranks instead of accompanying CDR on his passive-:

While this would be helpful in reducing Azir's dependance on CDR items for his attack speed, this would severely reduce his laning potency, as most Azir players max their Q's in lane instead of their W's. This would mean his attack speed in lane would be dismaly low without items, reducing his effectiveness in early fights. But, sure, I get it. Azir is a lategame champ right? While I grumble about this change, it certainly can at least be understood if not condoned.

What irritates me is the following:

Removal of the knockup and shield on his E. **THAT IS 100% PREPOSTEROUS!!! ** This, when used in combination with his ultimate, is his ONLY source of outplay potential aside from a decent teamfight ult that mispositions some enemies, or when enemies die as a result of underestimating his raw damage potential. In other words, the shield and knockup are the only ways with which he can punish enemies severely enough to ensure a kill, simply for bad positioning on their part.

"But isn't it sort of broken?" some would ask. Well, of course there is nothing that can be done to stop it, but that is precisely the point! If an Azir player is smart enough to recognize when that move is executable, they should be rewarded for pulling it off!!!

Consequently, if an Azir player makes an incorrect judgement, there are plenty of opportunities for his enemies to nullify the effect. If an Azir heedlessly charges into unwarded territory and knocks an enemy into the air, he is vulnerable to incoming cc and damage for a few seconds, as he has temporarily expended most of his cooldowns to execute the famous W Q E R maneuver.

Taking it away would mean that he has to utilize the ult in a purely defensive manner, and is stripped of the tools to ensure that the ult always pushes an enemy where they DONT want to go. It takes away the satisfaction of that split second micromanagement of the soldiers that makes Azir unique, and fails to note the already present counterplay availible.

TL;DR--- KEEP HIM AS HE IS!!!

I also play a LOT of Azir, perhaps not quite as much as you, but still a large amount.

... Frankly I'm okay with the changes. He doesn't need the knock up, and it looks like they're going to keep the shield. He can now be CC'd away from doing a Shurima Shuffle but a well timed E>R will still pull off the same results. The movement of his passive into his W is a smart choice that actually gives players the option of maxing Q OR W instead of always Q. 60% attack speed at level 9 (more than his current passive gives, mind you!) or Q poke/reposition?

As much as I don't want them to nerf Azir, I can see why they are. He's overbearing in the early game and transitions into a hyper carry. And the counterplay to his mobility is to get hit by a knockup. Changes are going to happen, let them.

No he's overpowered as hell. He has a huge kit with a ton of power and utility and mobility and range all game long.

Plain and simple. Fenix got Azir nerfed.

Maybe he shouldn't be nerfed this hard, but he certainly deserves the nerf. People say he is so hard to play, i find that hard to believe as i played azir mid and the only thing hard about him is maybe his ult if even that. He's even more safe then a lux or orianna, if you're a melee mid vsing a azir you literally have no chance. He can have 3 soldiers up to cs and he gets a huge range between them making poking the enemy champion so easy.

TL;DR I hate azir, probably the most safe mid and is a monster lategame.
