Why is Yasuo allowed to keep his double crit passive?

It still utterly confuses me as to why Yasuo is allowed to keep it.

It doesn't make his gameplay interesting. It doesn't add mechanics. It just lets him use (critical) items more efficiently than any other champion who could buy them. It makes immobile champions feel even more helpless after he uses enemy minions against their champions because he's effectively guaranteed to critically strike more often.

And don't give me that crap on his reduced critical damage, because it would need to be at least 75% reduced for the purposes of balancing out the fact he uses such items more RELIABLY than anyone else, taking the "random" out of "RNG".

Because he essentially has 1 damage ability (ult is pretty dinky for most of the game) and it enables easier control over his damage output

Would you prefer for it to have sat at 50% crit, but with no damage penalties, so he just randomly snipes you with 600 damage tornados at level 9? It'd be another Tryndamere, but worse

He's garbage now regardless, so idk why you're bothering with a thread

It means he doesn’t need to build 100% like an ADC (who are incredibly squishy) to function in his role.

At least, before the IE changes.

He already has multiple defensive steroids with insane mobility. Why does he need the extra damage?

Because he needs more room in his build for durability to build like a fighter. He’s not ranged, he is in more danger than an ADC in combat.

What?

He has 2 defensive steroids, which is more than any ADC will have. And most fighters will only have one. He has one of the strongest CC in game and a skill for the sole purpose of following up on any instance of the strongest CC. He has mobility that exceeds most fighters and every single ADC in the game (even Kalista).

Why does he need that damage compensation? Why is Riot giving him safety nets for not learning how to position better?

he has two defensive steroids BECAUSE he is melee and needs to stay in melee range to deal damage

he has the base stats of a ranged adc

that's only fair for him to have this

and i speak as an adc main, not as a yasuo main

Every single champion in his class has defense mechanics on top of powerful damage steroids.

Yasuo's main damage steroid is relative ease of getting 100% crit chance. His steroid actually comes with a drawback, which is more than the other skirmishers can say.

Leave him be for gods sake. Yasuo was the champion that dropped the most winrate this patch. from 48% to 42-45%. Please, he's utter garbage atm. It is even confirmed by riot that Yasuo will get a buff next patch, from riot blaustoise on twitter.

He has to be kept as utter garbage because parts of his kit are extremely strong until they're nerfed into being useless.

Even if his E didn't do damage, the mobility alone is enough to make the skill strong. His Wind Wall could only last 2 seconds and still do an exceptional job disrupting any ADC.

He's one of those champions that ends up with a low win rate because he's popular and more people end up misplaying with him. AKA, because they lack the total skill to consistently use him well.

Except he also has the most dedicated player base, therefore, he tends to have a higher winrate than you would expect for such a popular champ, as he has a lot of mains

I dont see what the item changes did?

Before, he took a Zeal item + IE and he got 100% crit,

Now he builds a Zeal item + IE and he also gets 100% crit from it.

The only difference is the build cost (which is higher than before) and that instead of doing additionnal damage, his crits deal 20% true damage.

Because I wanna know why he needs that extra damage and reliability.

I don't see it as part of his identity, I see it as part of the reason he's extra difficult to balance. He already has a strong advantage against many champions simply with Wind Wall. His shield is also sufficient defense for most fights with even a modicum of skill and awareness. His mobility is sky high and lets him stick to most targets simply because minions had shown up.

And he gets to do this while out-damaging you simply because he gets more critical strikes (and overall critical damage) for less.

You should know what happens if Yasuo doesn’t want to build crit.

Want a remix of Frozen Force? Because that’s what we’ll get if he doesn’t want to build crit anymore.

And no, just 50% crit for a MELEE FIGHTER that stays in a fight doesn’t cut it.

higher build cost, crit cloak middle power spike deleted, 20% crit wasted

he doesn't care about the 20% true dmg

D357R0Y3R1 votes

so he can have 42% win rate after crit nerfs

KZ Engel1 votes

it's to keep him away from bruiser items so his base stats can stay low and he can stay as fragile as he's supposed to be
