[GAMEPLAY] Placements, Need to know how this makes sense! worth the read.

So a friend of mine, ended season 5 as a silver 3 rank, he did his placements and after going 2 wins and 8 losses, got placed in silver 5. I have two accounts, one ended season 5 as a silver 1 rank, and the other ended season 5 as a gold 4 rank.(all with average mmr) My silver 1 account i went 8 wins and 2 losses and was placed in bronze 5. My gold 4 account i went 5-5 and was placed in silver 5. I was obviously bothered with such low placements since i thought i did fairly well (espically my kdr in game even tho thats not important) BUT how in the world could someone who was silver 3 rank, go 2-8 and get silver 5 meanwhile someone who was 2ranks higher and did the complete opposite (8-2) in placements get placed lower! and someone who was 6 ranks higher and still did better get placed the same as someone who did that poorly in their placements! i need answers!!

Me feels there is somthing wrong with the placing and riot isnt saying anything

Your rank had a soft reset at the start of the new season, additionally the win/loss order may be affecting your placements. If you win the first 2 games you will play better opponents for the next matches, losing them will might lower your placement some but those first wins might have jumped you an entire league. Whereas losing you first 3 matches might make the system match against players that were previously bronze 4/5 in this case beating them might bring you to bronze 3 but probably not all the way to silver.

This is atleast my understanding of the ranked reset and placement system.
