The Nidalee nerf was overshot and needs changes. Let's talk about what each of these nerfs do to nidalee and let's see what riot was thinking. "Q - Javelin Toss CAST TIME 0.125 seconds ⇒ 0.25 seconds SPEAR DAMAGE 50/75/100/125/150 ⇒ 50/70/90/110/130 MAXIMUM SPEAR DAMAGE 150/225/300/375/450 ⇒ 150/210/270/330/390"

ps. this isn't for players who are going to complain about "nidalee spear damage op", because if you're getting hit by them enough to say that, then dont comment cuz your not very knowledgable about the game

Alright, imagine the scenario: High elo players that dodge nidalee spears with ease. A team fight is about to happen mid, your team can't hard engage and you're a poke comp. Landing consistent spears pre-nerf was hard enough before a team fight, now her cast time is increased so you can't throw the spears with the same timing that nidalee players could once do. "SPEAR DAMAGE 50/75/100/125/150 ⇒ 50/70/90/110/130," and the maximum spear damage nerf... alright so resume back to the team fight. You're missing all your spears, it's an even game and the other team simply has to hard engage before you land some slow ass weak damage spears. Wow, if your team isn't tanky and cc-oriented, your team is dead if they hard engage right? I'll just go into cougar when they engage then get 1 shot from their team's aoe! Oops I'm dead. Unless i built tanky...(tanky nidalee?)

HIGH ELO PLAYERS DODGE NIDALEE SPEARS WITH EASE(OH NO NIDALEE FOR HIGH ELO!)

Wow, quote from riot, "Tossing massive Javelins and stalking the weak is most certainly a hallmark of Nidalee's playstyle, but the number of tools she has to choose her engagements leaves her opponents without much of a say. These changes continue to pressure Nidalee to really commit with cougar-form takedowns, instead of constantly fishing with poke from afar." This is Riot's idea. remove her potency with spears so that players focus on killing players in cougar form. Oh, I thought that pre-nerf when I would team fight it would be risky to go in cougar form if your team is getting hard engaged. OHHH, it's because it is. Wow now we say goodbye to pure ap nidalee builds and we're building athene's, roa, zhonya to stay tanky so that you don't get 1 shot by the enemies aoe. Weird, now nidalee is left with less damage with this build and they lowered her spear damage and utility! HOW WEAK CAN YOU GET NIDALEE.

Speed of gameplay is my next topic of the nerf.** "CAST TIME 0.125 seconds ⇒ 0.25 seconds."** Alright, so let me draw a comparison for you guys mentally. I'm throwing nidalee spears while kiting back kind of. Oh for some reason nidalee feels slower... oh! it's because of her increase q cast time! So now i'm like an adc trying to kite who has no attack speed items. You guys like that comparison? Well think about it. If this one aspect of nidalee is nerfed, nidalee speed of gameplay is cut down significantly. So now my nidalee is like a slow ass cho'gath with pounce and who can't switch from cougar form to human form throwing spears nearly as fast. Don't get me wrong I understand riots intentions with the nerf since she was pretty broken, i literally never lost lane with her until today when I queued up after the patch lmao.

Thank God they left her heal alone, but her bushwack vision range? You have to put the trap on top of the player literally to see them in fog of war. Traps were so useful for their damage and resist lowering(not). Now the main use of her trap to get vision is non-existent.

Players of League who read this, your comments filled with rage "SHE DESERVED ALL THE NERF" and "NOW SHE'S PERFECTLY BALANCED!" I mean come on, she sucks now lol, late game when she fell off WHERE PEOPLE BUILD MAGIC RESIST AND BANSHEE'S VEILS. how much damage are your spears going to do then, and when they're almost impossible late game when everyone has fully upgraded boots and aura upgrades. now she's fallen off a damn cliff haha. Don't take this as a biased complaint by a player that loves nidalee but more of an objective analysis of the changes to nidalee. Because I was bored of nidalee anyways I could care less, but I feel wrong sitting and watching Riot completely render a champ useless. Thanks!

Goddess the Spear Throw was hard enough to land as it was. Now it's even harder due to the slower cast time. More often than not you have to throw the spear where you believe the opponent would run to. If you do that now, they have a lot more time to see it and zoom the other way if you do the original timing. =/

This is what they should have done with Nidalee: Slightly lowered spear damage or ratios Replaced the bit of damage or ratios into her cougar form Q and/or E

Would have made her death poke... well, less like death poke, more like actual poke. Then made her all ins like they're supposed to be: She'd burst'em down, as any assassin.

I think they could have done anything but destroy her spear utility with its cast time, since she is in fact an assassin. I play nidalee religiously and now I can't play her, and if I can't play her then who in the hell can? I've played nidalee to diamond and I had pretty much full control of her mechanics, even on my smurfs it's hard to farm players lmao!

Very true. Heck, they could have just removed that glitch or whatever it is that doesn't allow us to see spears when thrown in the fog of war, would've made her probably 10% less OP. Seriously, can't even see what's about to kill me under tower mun. Just rood.

I play Nidalee religiously as well and it's the cast time that has really just broken my devotion to her. This is the first time I've ever enter into the chat boards and it's just entirely due to her geting nerfed into the ground. I main her top AP(and really anywhere else cause she was once upon a time versatile), and it's always a fun workout to out skill the AD champs that meet me up there but with her cast time doubled with no ease on the mana drain or increase of power I just don't see her as a viable as a much more simple champ like Olaf. It's an unnecessary uphill battle.

What they should have done was increase mana cost of spear later on in game (since she is already fairly weak after lvl 3 and before lvl 9ish). then she cant just throw spears forever and a day long, but it doesnt gut the champion.

Additionally roit spoke specifically of getting people to use cougar form. Well there is 0 chance of me going in without getting a mark on someone first and increasing the cast time means fewer spears hit so I cant get a mark on them in lane. "Just use your traps" umm traps in lane a basically useless as they are extremely obvious in mid and creeps can activate them so unless my opponent is special needs, they wont walk on them.

This nerf was targeted at jungle nidalee but other than the vision range it affects mid nidalee more than any other nidalee role. Trying to force nidalee players to use cougar form and then taking away their main ability to get marks on people are completely opposite ideas.

This post couldn't be more accurate. Nidalee is know for her quickness and allusiveness moving in and out of combat for a fun and tactical way to kill your opponent. If you can't dodge a spear, that's your problem.

Explain how, than. Because generally, the reason for "nerf Nid" boiled down to. "I can't dodge her spears, so, can you make the game easier for me?" They were pathetically easy to dodge already.

She deserved nerfs yes, not these nerfs though. Asking nidalee players to use cougar form more and spot just chucking spears is very valid. Making it twice as hard to land the spear with double the cast time and asking nidalee users to use cougar more (a form where a mark is necessary to do dmg) is not valid. In fact, it is the complete opposite of what they are asking nidalee users to do. If I can't land a spear or mark them with a trap im not going into a melee form to try an trade with someone who is ranged and has cc as most mid laners are.

The nerfs she did deserve would be to increase the risk of missing a spear. How do they do that you ask. Simple increase the mana cost. You can't through 10 spears if you are oom after 5.

Pro players get hit by Nid spears ALL THE TIME. She had a pick/ban rate of 32% this split, so you was played quite a bit. That fact alone negates your entire argument.

Her spear needed nerfing and EVERYONE knows it. Plus they buffed her elsewhere and she still has some of the highest mobility in the game. I'm sorry but your post is nothing more than a QQ thread.

ROFL.

Even with the nerf, her spears still do stupid damage. Instead of taking 60% of your health, it's only going to take 50%. Yeah, that completely ruins her. 99.9% of players will agree with me on this.

You have to be trolling, otherwise you may have actually captured the title of dumbest person on these boards. That's quite an accomplishment.

Speed of gameplay works in Nid's favor. She is one of the most mobile champs in the game. Even with hard engage she can get away pretty easy unless the team focuses her with hard CC.

Yes, the increased cast time hurts, IF the enemy team sees your windup. All good Nid players throw their spears out of line-of-sight of the enemy. Either from brush or around a corner. The increased delay is completely irrelevant in those cases. The only time it actually hurts her is when she is throwing from lane and that is only a fraction of the time she should be throwing them.

As for the traps, Riot reduced the vision radius so it could be used to check brush and not scout out a whole screen worths of information.

The best part of all your posts though was your last one. "I sit at the top 5% where I actually know everything about the game". Wow, just Wow. This single thread alone makes that the funniest thing I have ever read on these forums. Good luck finding a PRO player who would even attempt to make that statement. A wise man once said "Only a complete fool believes he knows everything."

Still you remain ignorant, unbelievable... I've played league for 10 hours a day on average for 4 years, go solve a puzzle 10 hours a day for 4 years and you'll know everything about it.
