How do you get through Promos?

My blood is raging. This is a pure salt post. Hate it as much as you want its still here.

I just got to my promos.... the players I was matched with all raged. Every single one of them...................................

I am not saying by any means I was perfect or a pro. I get it. Rip on me as much as you would like but the fact is the players on my team are no where near my skill level. I was jungle and adc, both games had most wards.

The Tristana game was my make or break for promos and really has me let down and unmotivated. There is no reason we should have lost. Our nunu tried to go for Baron at level 12 and 4 people died as a result. They went back for baron and got it, instead of using the baron buff to push lanes and get the two almost dead inhib turrets that they felt we should 4v5(ekko died from baron) for dragon since the enemy team was attacking it. I was Tristana with a pretty good lane pushing tower taking build going with Baron buff. I was going for objective. So they still go in, 3v5 for dragon and all lose baron buffs and dragon. The whole time flaming me for being "worst adc NA".

I stay positive and try very hard to reinforce positive thinking when teammates are fighting. I remind people to keep focused on the objective and not on the past. These teams both decided instead of going for the win to give up and flame each other, or flame me.

I already know I am not perfect, I know you will rip me apart for using tele/heal. I get it. The point is I put in lots of time and hard effort and positive thinking to end up having it taken because of a few people who are completely unaware of the concept of the game. Instead they are there to flame people and try to get a bunch of kills and snowball to like 30 kills. If it doesn't go that way(which it never does) they rage and die because they are typing in the enemy jungle and blame the only person actually contributing to the team.

The fact that I was told by 3 of my own teammates that I was the worst player they have ever seen NA actually really boils my blood. I understand that a lot of ranked is carrying yourself, but how do I carry when my own team is extremely unaware of the objective and actively goes out of their way to lose the game? Its not a 5v5 its a 1v9 sometimes.

If you can actually look at those match histories and tell me I was the worst player on my teams, than I really want to hear your reasons. You don't need to tell me I am a scrub, actually give me some logical points and have a logical discussion.

Rage Salt Post. Broken Bronzy. Losing faith.

On the bright side Riot has implemented promo helpers. Free win the next time you enter promos.

I have two tips for you:

  1. ~~ Ban the power picks. In your Tristana game you let Mundo through. In both of your games you let Jhin through. Why should you ban Jhin? Because new champions are always hit or miss. It's better to avoid the risk. In your Vi game you let through Lucian and Alistar. They are very strong picks and are strongly contested for in professional league and reasonably so. Nonetheless your bot lane might have had a fighting chance if you banned Jhin. Which then brings me back to my previous point: Its hit or miss.~~ Just fucking ban Jhin ok?
  2. Teleport + Heal. Never do that again in ranked. Ever.

Just play them and if you lose it isn't as big of a deal now because you'll get a free promo win when you requalify 2 games later.

Pretend you're not in placements/promos.

This is the best way to avoid raging in general: pretend there are no consequences and just play to get better. Learn what you can, look at what you could have done better and shrug it off. Don't even think about your division or your MMR.

The new promo helper is really great. Just stay positive, mute the types of people you described above, and you'll eventually pass promos.

Duo man. Duo with a competent friend. Have one of you jungle and one of you lane. Feed the friend and camp his lane or vice versa. One of you then should b able to carry.

Well said Loli Crusader, Illaoi is most certainly not ban worthy at the moment and she only really get's scary if she get's quite good team fights. Staying spread out and not fighting where she has established herself is a huge hit to her power. Fiora oddly enough I think is exceptionally good right now, even when built on the tanky side, due to the prevalence of tanky tops and her Renekton like playstyle to quickly punish until she can force them away or kill them. Jhin (as with most new champs) is only must ban for a few days to avoid anyone playing them, but if no one on your team is planning to, certainly not worth wasting the ban.

I'm honestly looking forward to seeing Jhin rise as a Mid Laner pick, his ult basically makes him an AD version of Xerath. Roam a bit into the river and then put some shots into the enemy laner from the fog of war.
